Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek is spending the weekend in Atlanta checking out the talent on display across three events. On Friday afternoon he attended the Georgia World Congress Center for Best of The South. Here is who stood out:
The 6-2 rising junior guard has been on a shooting clinic this summer for G1 Sports. Smith didn’t disappoint as he dropped a game-high 18 points on four made 3-pointers in a win over South Georgia Tarheels. Smith did a sensational job initiating the offense and continuing to get his teammates involved as he has scored in double figures in each game so far at Best of The South. Look for college coaches to begin hitting his radar as he gears up for his junior season with Wiregrass Ranch.

The 6-5 rising senior forward is one of the top wings in the South Florida area and he proved us that holds a true statement. Freeman was knocking down shots on all three levels for Wellington Wolves finishing with a team-high 26 points on five made 3-pointers. His jump shot was also pure and consistent throughout the day on Friday. Freeman has heard from Cal State Fullerton, Chattanooga, Dayton, Murray State and Tennessee State so far this summer.
Despite the loss, White put on a pure shooting clinic in the second half to lift his team within striking distance. The 6-2 guard finished with a team-high 20 points including five made 3-pointers. His capabilities to play either guard position has proven his leadership skills have improved over the course of the summer.
The 6-6 rising senior wing caught fire from beyond the arc finishing with a game-high 31 points on four made 3-pointers in a tough loss to Norcross Heat. Lamb displayed his smooth shooting touch early and often as he made plays down the stretch when his teammates needed it most. His versatility has created his role into being more of a combo guard as of late and is getting better throughout the summer. Lamb is receiving interest from D2 Flagler College and D3 Midway University.

The 6-0 guard has been impressive on all fronts as he used his speed to stay in front of his opposition which was forcing tough shots. On the offensive end, Tatum was a pure scorer finishing with 20 points helping lead Team Loaded to a 61-60 win. Tatum recently reclassified to the Class of 2025 and should continue to grow attention from the college coaches who can feed off his constant energy when he is out on the floor.

The 6-2 rising senior guard is a pure inside-out scoring threat and doesn’t let his size phase him when he is out on the floor. In the win over Skills Center Elite, Mattison finished with 22 points. He is at his best when he is playing with pace and showing some creativity when the basketball is in his hands.
The 6-6 rising senior wing led all scorers with 18 points for Ball4Lyfe United in a 64-50 win over Team Swish. He has shown consistently throughout the summer he can be a versatile scorer in a variety of ways. He can hurt you at the front of the rim or shoot it from beyond the arc with confidence. His recruitment is starting to take off as he has received offers from Chicago State and North Carolina A&T this summer.
