The 4-day event was being held at the John Rhodes Sports Center right in the Heart of Myrtle Beach just blocks away from the Atlantic Ocean. Who were some players of interest that caught our attention this weekend?
Anyone Say Size?
Chol Machot Chol Machot 7'0" | C Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC is a very slender and extremely long individual who plays at Winston-Salem Christian. Machot has a very good skill set with the ability to handle the rock up the floor like a guard and block shots (it least 9 to my count here today). He runs the floor like a deer and just glides effortlessly from side to side. Chol is a rim runner and protector and only will keep projecting up higher with his skill package.
WBC Scores 100:
WBC Elite 16U scored 100 points and that was with a running clock in the 2nd half. Rodmik Allen Rodmik Allen 5'10" | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC scores the ball in so many ways at times looks bored on the floor. Allen scored 36 points according to my unofficial stats here today vs West Virginia Reign. Rodmik creates his own shot while attacking the gaps and simply cross overing a defender. He finished several drives in transition today while attacking the cup.
Zeus Batts Zeus Batts 5'10" | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC is a physical specimen who just seems to bull defenders on the way to the cup. Batts stalks the baseline while scoring the ball freely at times. Zeus a football player in the fall and Allen share the backcourt together at New Hanover HS in Wilmington.
Wilmington Area Has Talent:
New Hanover looks to be even stronger this season with CJ Kornegay CJ Kornegay 6'5" | SF New Hanover | 2025 State NC now on board. Kornegay who runs with Flight 22 on the Grassroots transferred over from nearby Hoggard HS late in the spring last season. Kornegay will join forces with Nolan Billings Nolan Billings 6'5" | PF New Hanover | 2025 State NC fellow teammate on Flight 22 on the Wildcats roster.
Add in Ny’Zion Ballard Ny’Zion Ballard 6'6" | PF New Hanover | 2026 State NC a long and rangy forward who really plays well around the cup with a soft touch. Ballard runs with WBC 15U and plays in the 2026 Hoop State Class. Oh yeah Kellum Brown Kellum Brown 6'3" | SG New Hanover | 2026 State NC a 2026 himself plays up with the WBC 16U team.
Jacobs has New Address:
Levon Jacobs Levon Jacobs 6'9" | C Davidson Day | 2025 State NC informed Prep Hoops that he will be attending Davidson Day this coming school year. Jacobs a long and rangy forward played last season at Moravian Prep. Jacobs has a great upside and can really stretch the floor with his ability to knockdown shots on the perimeter. Levon plays very active on both ends of the court.
He really likes to get up and try to alter and challenge shots on the defensive end. Jacobs previously played at West Rowan HS before playing at Moravian Prep last season. Levon will play in the 2025 Hoop State Class this coming season.
Western North Carolina Has Talent:
10AC Pistons is a team based out of Western North Carolina with a few players from the Volunteer State. Today the Pistons played a well round game and really had some solid pieces on this roster for the years to come. Noah Pierce Noah Pierce 6'1" | CG North Henderson | 2026 State NC , Mason Putnam Mason Putnam 6'0" | CG Pisgah | 2026 State NC and guard Jack Teesateskie Jack Teesateskie 6'2" | CG Cherokee (NC) | 2026 State NC all stood out today for this squad in a win.
Pierce showed a lot of confidence with his shot and played the game with swag today. Noah attends North Henderson HS.
Putnam played very aggressively all game long and kept going to the basket. Mason was able to switch hands and finish around the basket. Putnam attends Pisgah HS in Canton.
Teesateskie brings good versatility and length to the floor. Jack connected on some short mid-range jumpers and was constantly around the ball to make a play for his squad. Teesateskie is a lengthy guard who attends Cherokee HS.
Big Shots Elite NC Duo:
Shamarius Peterkin Shamarius Peterkin 6'3" | CG Mount Tabor | 2025 State NC and Jeremiah Davis Jeremiah Davis NC both showed some good moments here today for the Whit Holcomb-Faye coached squad. Peterkin who attends Mount Tabor HS is a 2-sport athlete who excels on the hardwood and football field. He’s currently attracting a lot of Power 5 Football recruitment. Nicknamed Snook, Peterkin has a good skill set and was very smooth off the catch here today with his shot.
Davis attends Walkertown HS and constantly brings positive energy and vibes to the floor. He really gets after it on both ends of the court with his ability to defend and get the ball to the cup.
