The five Indiana Elite programs participating in this high-level event had varying levels of success on Friday headlined by the 15u and 17u squads advancing to their respective Elite Eight rounds. We will have boots on the ground once again on Saturday bringing you all of the latest from the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. Let’s dive on in to what happened on Friday.
Indiana Elite 17u
It hasn’t been easy for Indiana Elite 17u here in the 3SSB Championships tournament. However, they have survived and advanced to the Elite Eight after Friday’s epic triple overtime thriller. They will now face Team Loaded Virginia 17u at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for a spot in the Final Four.
After a relatively slow-paced first half, Indiana Elite got some early second half production from Purdue commit Raleigh Burgess Raleigh Burgess 6'10" | C Sycamore | 2024 State #130 Nation OH and a nice rim-run from Iowa commit Cooper Koch Cooper Koch 6'8" | PF Metamora | 2024 State #81 Nation IL to open up a double-figure advantage. However, that comfortable lead wouldn’t last long. BABC 17u kept chipping away and it down to a three-point game before Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN (Kokomo H.S. 2024) made a tough left-handed hook shot at the front of the rim with 2:15 to play making it 47-42.
BABC would end up scoring five unanswered, just as they needed, to force overtime. That would be just the beginning of the drama though. After trading buckets to make it 52-52, BABC had the ball sideline out-of-bounds with about three seconds on the clock with a chance to win the game. However, Braden Walters Braden Walters 6'6" | PF Terre Haute North | 2024 State IN (Terre Haute North H.S. 2024) stole the inbounds pass and threw it ahead to Travis Perry Travis Perry 6'2" | PG Lyon County | 2024 State #115 Nation KY who nearly knocked in a wild turnaround three-pointer. In the second overtime period, neither team scored for two minutes which forced a third two-minute overtime.
Travis Perry Travis Perry 6'2" | PG Lyon County | 2024 State #115 Nation KY quickly scored to get Indiana Elite on top in the third overtime. Then, Colin White scored seven points to seal the deal as Indiana Elite escaped with a 61-56 victory.
Indiana Elite 17u will face Team Loaded VA 17u at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Indiana Elite 15u
What a wild game this one was. The atmosphere was intense and the play on the floor resembled that of a football game as the officials swallowed their whistles on both ends. However, that officiating style played right into the hands of Indiana Elite 15u’s physical guards and wings.
Down the stretch, it was Keaton Aldridge Jr Keaton Aldridge Jr 6'4" | SF Cathedral | 2026 State IN . (Cathedral H.S. 2026) who just kept getting to the basket and finishing through contact. He is such an excellent finisher with both hands and is so strong around the basket. The style of play in this one was tailor-made for his skill set.
Another physical guard, Jeremiah Jackson Jeremiah Jackson 6'4" | SF Saint Xavier | 2026 State KY , finished with 23 points to lead Indiana Elite while Aldridge added 16 points. They defeated Southern Assault 15u 55-52 after a nice second half comeback to advance to the 15u Elite Eight.
Indiana Elite 15u will face D1 Minnesota 15u at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Indiana Elite 16u
This was somewhat of an ugly one for Indiana Elite 16u after an outstanding spring and summer on the 3SSB circuit. They couldn’t get much to fall, aside from Braylon Mullins Braylon Mullins 6'6" | SG Greenfield-Central | 2025 State #123 Nation IN (Greenfield-Central H.S. 2025) making three-pointers and the occasional Dezmon Briscoe Dezmon Briscoe 6'9" | PF Crispus Attucks | 2025 State #107 Nation IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025) post touch or offensive rebound. The athleticism of Brookwood Elite 16u seemed to be speeding them up just enough to take them out of what they wanted to do.
However, they fought back from over 20 points down in the second half and had a shot in the air that would have cut it to six in the final minutes. If the game had an extra ten minutes they likely could have come back, but they just ran out of time in the end. Brookwood Elite 16u advanced with an upset 66-52 victory. Mullins led Indiana Elite 16u with 17 points on four three-pointers in the loss.
In the evening, this group bounced back for a blowout 86-57 win over Wildcats Select 16u. Braylon Mullins Braylon Mullins 6'6" | SG Greenfield-Central | 2025 State #123 Nation IN led the way once again with another massive shooting performance as he put up 20 points.
Indiana Elite 16u will face Team Loaded VA 16u at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Indiana Elite Team Tradition 16u
The Jeffersonville trio was excellent as always, but Tam Tradition 16u lost a heartbreaker at the buzzer to KLow Elite 16u 66-64. Jeffersonville rising junior (2025) prospects P.J. Douglas P.J. Indiana Elite Team Indiana 16u
Hot shooting by Trey Yoder Trey Yoder 6'6" | PF Woodlan | 2025 State IN (Woodlan H.S. 2025), excellent point guard play from Chris Hurt Chris Hurt 5'11" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2025 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2025), and the elite athleticism of Justin Kirby (Fishers H.S. 2025) kept Team Indiana 16u in this one until the final buzzer against a very, very talented Atlanta Celtics 16u squad. However, they would come up just short suffering a 68-63 loss.
Yoder finished with 17 points while connecting on five three-point shots. Meanwhile, Hurt scored 16 points and Kirby finished with 12 points.
Team Indiana lost another close one in the evening 70-62 against Team Lillard 16u.
