Lance Barnes Lance Barnes 6'3" | PG Catawba Ridge | 2026 State SC – Catawba Ridge High School
Lance is the prototype of what you would want in a Modern-Day Point Guard. His combination of playmaking ability, athleticism, and defensive prowess is a dream to play with because you can always count on Lance to be on top of his game. He is one of the best passers in the state, and rarely forces plays into turnovers. Prior to the start of the Sizzlin’ Summer Shootout, Barnes received his first Division 1 Offer from South Carolina State University but you can expect that number to continue to increase before the start of the High School Season.
Abe Davinroy Abe Davinroy 6'1" | SG Oceanside Collegiate | 2026 State SC – Oceanside Collegiate Academy
Davinroy was really impressive with the Landsharks this weekend. He had a big-time performance in the Gold Bracket Championship Game, finishing with a Game-High 22 Points in a 61-51 Win over Greer. Abe showed an ability to create shots for himself but also to knock down shots as a spot-up shooter and he did both with efficiency.
BJ Brown BJ Brown 6'3" | SG Sumter | 2026 State SC – Sumter High School
Brown is as pure of a Jump Shooter as you can find in the State of South Carolina for the 2026 Class. He is an extremely confident young player and can heat up instantly. BJ did just that against Mauldin when he led the Gamecocks with 30 Points in a Pool Play Win. As is often with players of this archetype and age, the key as he matures will be consistency, so it will be interesting to keep tabs on BJ and Sumter during the Upcoming Season.
Kam Smith Kam Smith 5'10" | PG Greenville | 2026 State SC – Greenville High School
Kam had a standout weekend for the Red Raiders. On Saturday Morning, he was inserted into the Starting Lineup to get the defensive assignment of one of the top scorers in the state, Justin Ray Justin Ray 6'3" | SG Eastside | 2024 State #317 Nation SC . With Kam as his Primary Defender, Ray was stifled. Smith held him to just 8 Points on 3-10 Field Goals and 3 Turnovers. Smith brought the intensity all game long and based on his performance Saturday, will likely see similar assignments in the Upcoming Season.
Tucker Scholl Tucker Scholl 6'0" | SG Greenville | 2027 State SC – Greenville High School
Scholl is another young Greenville Guard who stood out this weekend. The thing that impressed me was Tucker’s desire to influence the game whether his shot was falling or not. He is a very good shooter, but also has a High IQ, makes the extra pass, and is a scrappy defender. He will get a good share of minutes in his Freshman Season for the Red Raiders and his development will be fun to watch.
Colton Kreger Colton Kreger 6'4" | SG Powdersville | 2027 State SC – Powdersville High School
Kreger had a big game in Powdersville’s Sizzlin’ Summer Shootout Opener. He had 16 Points off the bench in a win against Greer Middle College. Colton wasn’t dressed out for the Silver Bracket Championship, so I only got to see him once this weekend but I was impressed. He is a very good cutter that also has touch from outside and is very active on the defensive end. Kreger is another nice piece to this Powdersville Rotation for the Upcoming Season.
Eli Britt Eli Britt 5'7" | PG Sumter | 2027 State SC – Sumter High School
Britt rounds out our list of Top Youngsters from the Sizzlin’ Summer Shootout. He also provided valuable offense off the bench for his team on Friday Afternoon. He is a confident shooter from outside but also could knock down from the Mid-Range off the dribble. He might not have as big of an immediate role as some of the others in this group, but Britt has the potential to be a Household Name in the Sumter Area.
