Improvement can take many forms, such as overcoming challenges, physically growing taller, developing new skills, making positive changes, honing a craft, or simply improving your athleticism. This all requires dedication, hard work, and often involves stepping outside one’s comfort zone. People who have recently improved can serve as role models and inspirations to others. It is important to recognize and celebrate the achievements of those who have recently improved, as it can help build confidence and encourage continued growth and development. By sharing their stories and experiences, these individuals can inspire others to strive for personal improvement and reach their full potential.
See below for info on 13 players that recently boosted their stock!
His game has grown by leaps and bounds this spring and summer. Griffen’s length and athleticism make him an intriguing prospect. Goodbary recently picked up an offer from Augustana. Griffen shoots the 3 well, rebounds like a vacuum, and blocks shots like Dikembe Mutombo. Griffen is 6’8″ and still growing! He has a ton of potential with high upside. Goodbary’s future looks glaringly bright.
Highlights
Hammerbeck has been dominating the paint on both ends of the floor. This Warrior is a true enforcer! He can bang with any BIG he plays against from anywhere in the country. If you watch Hammerbeck play, you will understand why he is a MONSTER on the football field. Shawn has drastically improved his foot speed and can now effectively guard smaller & quicker players on the wing. His skills are underrated and Hammerbeck is primed for a huge high school season. I am excited to see him play later in July on the Prep Hoops Circuit.
He is certainly living up to his last name. Bruns obviously know what success tastes like as he comes from a highly successful family and high school program. This spring, Bruns has been splashy and highly productive. Luke has had some mega games shooting the rock from deep. He has proved himself as a lethal shooter that knows how to find open spots. Every time the ball leaves his hands, it seems like it is going down. Luke also has a sweet mid-range pull-up game and his finishing has improved. I can’t wait to see the deadly shooter later this month.
He will be stepping into a new role next season and Mav is soon to be a STUD for the Cossacks. Nelson is a disciplined shooter that gets to his spots and is always ready to shoot. He spaces and re-spaces like a veteran. Maverick is a smooth shooter with noteworthy mechanics. Nelson has natural instincts and a great feel for the game. He plays for Sioux Valley, so you know that he is a sharp baller that will continue to improve.

This long lefty is full of talent and intrigue. Tad had a quality sophomore season and he stuck out on the defensive side of the ball for the Quarriers who won 16 games. Tjaden plays with great energy and he is active on both sides of the ball. He is at his best when cutting and slashing to the rim, he can also hit from outside. Tjaden was a high percentage shooter this past winter. He will be the best defender for Dells and Tjaden will increase his offensive production. PHD is expecting big things from Tad is 23-24!
He is a solid all-around athlete and an athletic player. Parsley is a smart player that can affect the game without the ball in his hands. In AAU hoops, Paul is making great plays while attacking the basket. He puts up points and creates opportunities for others. He has been great at getting his teammates involved. His three-point shot is improving. Parsley is well on his way to becoming a complete basketball player.
He has a ton of potential with a high ceiling. Smith can basically get to the rim whenever he wants. He has no trouble weaving his way through the defense. It is nearly impossible for one defender to keep Mr. Smith out of the lane. Layton has improved his shot from the three-point arc. His dunking/slamming/whamming is impressive and it will catch your eye. The Orioles are loaded with talent and Smith will be a player to keep tabs on.
Shane is a go-to player for the Tigers. He gets the job done on both offense and defense. Henderson has good length and a natural basketball feel. This makes him a productive rebounder and defender. Shane has stretched out his shooting ability. He effectively hits from the perimeter and finishes above the rim. Henderson is a versatile defender that can guard anyone on the floor. Shane has had a nice start to his AAU season and he will only improve because of it. Look out for Henderson next season!
This Black Panther is a quick and explosive SPARK PLUG! Hayden hits big threes from all over the court and it does not take long for him to get his shot off. His range is extended and his shot is consistent. Sprik can also slash for scores and drop dimes to teammates. Hayden plays with swagger and confidence. His overall playmaking is improving every week.

He is a SNIPER and pure bucket. Beckman is known as a great shooter and he is only getting better. Trevon is having an excellent AAU season with Express out of Rapid City. This kid really loves the game and is a true gym rat. When Trevon has been with the Cardinals, he is producing at a high level. He is a fantastic teammate that plays with a passion. Beckman puts in the time behind the scenes and it is paying off.
Highlights
He has missed some time during the AAU season with an injury but will be back playing very soon. Furman was a role player for the Knights this past season (also missed time with injury) and he was a high percentage shooter. Aberdeen Christian won 23 games and took 3rd place at the State Tournament. Konnar will have a greatly expanded role this next season and he will be a featured weapon for the Knights. His size and athleticism make him an interesting prospect. Furman is strong, physical and he has a nice skill set to keep improving from.

He is an animal! Often times, the best thing to do is just get the ball to Kyle down low and let the BIG DAWG eat! He is a force down low but can also face up and shoot it hot from 15 feet. Virtue has advanced spatial awareness and he plays with an edge. He has an impressive up-n-under move but can also simply overpower defenders. If he grows a few more inches, Virtue will be a fascinating college prospect. Either way, he has the tools to play at the next level. Custer might be in way SW South Dakota but the entire state should start taking notice!
He looked like a DUDE this fall in AAU! He is a big, rangy, and athletic wing. I had heard he was mobile but Nyun was even better than advertised. Everyone talks about him being a good defender and that is true. However, he impressed me with his perimeter shooting, downhill slashing, transition scoring, and overall playmaking abilities. I think Dut could be a surprise player in AA this next season.
