In the past, Virtue was a tough prospect to rank and determine his projected position at the next level. He’s always had a steady and big motor, but he didn’t quite have the size to be an interior force at the next level, and I was a little unsure of his movement and skills on the perimeter. He seems to have fixed those issues that I was worried about and has improved his athleticism and ball skills. His most recent offer is an offer from NAIA Briar Cliff University.

Virtue is a rankings stock-riser, because I think he’s starting to look more like a versatile wing at the next level. He’s shooting the three aggressively. Clearly a really good high school player, but I also think he’s slowly starting to translate better to the next level. I have him down for offers from Mount Marty University and Briar Cliff University. Virtue was all over the place defensively, making play after play on that end.

Virtue is getting a bunch of NAIA offers and he’s impressing college coaches. He’s a wing/forward that plays with a motor, energy, and effort. I watched some Custer games about a month ago, and Virtue doesn’t have a clear position for the next level, but he’s still got solid size and his motor have to be what coaches like. He just gets the job done out there. There’s something to be said about that.

Custer took down STM in a much-needed win. That must have been a fun one for the Wildcats! Virtue had a quality game with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist.

-Battled on every possession
-Scored a ton of points around the hoop
-Did not back down from bigger opponents
-I liked his two-foot finishes
-Scored multiple buckets with run-out layups
-A clever player, loved when he slipped a screen for a BLOB score
-Gathered up many O-boards
-Drew contact and shot multiple FT’s
-Efficient & effective cutter
-Reliable hands
-Scored with a soft floater
-Fought for boards and gave extra effort
-Slashed and kicked to shooters when he didn’t have a good look
-Showed his range by knocking down a catch-n-shoot triple from the coffin corner
-Good instincts on D, came across the lane to pick off a pass
-Loved his vertical cut & score, showed sticky hands as that pass had some heat on it
-Showed his bounce with a 2-handed dunk
-Will put up gaudy numbers this winter and could easily be an All-State player
-Custer will be SCARY

WHY? He will not be the tallest forward at the event but Virtue will likely be one of the best. He is a beast around the basket and a bucket-getter. If Virtue gets single coverage on the block, it will most likely result in points or a foul. I expect him to be active on the glass and score a ton of points. How does he look on defense, can he defend bigger posts? I know one thing, I am intrigued with Virtue’s game and I can’t wait to see him at the Expo.0
