Below are five SEPA related predictions for Saturday's action at Philly HS Live Session 2.

1) West Catholic to Continue its Winnings Ways

The defending 3A state champions lost several key pieces to graduation (including floor general Adam “Budd” Clark), but West Catholic will still be a force in 2023-24. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1188625' first='Micah' last='Waters'] was tremendous during that state tourney. He returns to take on the role of scoring option No. 1. Super athletes [player_tooltip player_id='1990915' first='Tariq' last='Jennings'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1576722' first='Kingston' last='Wheatley'] will provide wing scoring. Rising junior Isaiah Muhammad is a 3-point ace. Filling in for the departed Clark at point guard will be transfer [player_tooltip player_id='1486773' first='Saaid' last='Lee']. Lee plays with pace and has excellent instincts for when to score vs. when to distribute.

2) The [player_tooltip player_id='1601167' first='Zeke' last='Staz'] Comeback Tour Rolls On

The 6'7”, multi-skilled rising junior missed nearly all of the 2022-23 season with a leg injury. Now that he is fully healthy, Staz is once again proving to be one of the most talented 2025 bigs in the region. Obviously with his height and length, Staz can score over defenders in close. But what catches opponents by surprise is his fluid movements and crafty dribble skills. Staz can also pop jumpers from the baseline to the mid-range to the arc. Last weekend at Philly HS Live Session 1, the big fella posted 21 points to go along with 6 boards vs. St. Joe's of Metuchen (NJ).

3) West Philly vs. Executive Education ACS is Going to Be Off the Charts

Two highly skilled teams that push the pace. Two enthusiastic fan bases. A slew of college coaches watching. This contest has all the making of a summertime classic. West Philly has a pair of fleet footed guards who can score, distribute, and defend in [player_tooltip player_id='1888856' first='Khabir' last='Washington'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1406769' first='Jayden' last='McKie']. Scoring wing [player_tooltip player_id='1890563' first='Makel' last='Butts'] is a top ranked 2025. [player_tooltip player_id='1466558' first='Brandon' last='Williams'] and Abdrahaman Coullbaly are rising stars for West Philly. Directing the up-tempo attack for Executive is point guard Rylan Muniz. His primary option will be shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1764304' first='Gabe' last='Hornberger'] who is a walking bucket. 6'7” forward [player_tooltip player_id='1848620' first='Alfred' last='Rios'] and stock rising 2025 Jaden Shipley will score in transition as well. When the pace does slow down some, look for 6'10” [player_tooltip player_id='1850279' first='Lamine' last='Sanoh'] to impose his will on this contest.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='1865344' first='Adrian' last='Brito'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1608319' first='KJ' last='Coles'] will Grab the Attention of College Coaches

This extremely talented Pocono Mt. West duo has become one of our favorite parings to watch. [player_tooltip player_id='1865344' first='Adrian' last='Brito'] (12.4 ppg. in 2022-23) is a traditional small forward prospect who plays with a physical edge. He can produce points in transition, with his smooth face up game or via quick post ups. Brito is a major plus player on the defensive end too. Meanwhile [player_tooltip player_id='1608319' first='KJ' last='Coles'] (13.6 ppg.) is one of the top ranked 2026 prospects in the state. Coles possesses elite quickness and slick handles, so he can score or distribute off the bounce. As a bonus, his jump shot has logo range on it (69 threes last season). Still, the most impressive aspect of Coles' game may be the poise and composure he plays with at such a young age.

5) Dobbins Tech Games Are Going to Draw Hordes of College Coaches

Dobbins is coming of an extremely successful 2022-23 season during which their two returning stars, combo guard Saleem Hudson and slashing wing [player_tooltip player_id='1990921' first='Zach' last='Campbell'], generated headlines. Last Weekend Campbell and Hudson were also outstanding performers at Philly HS Live Session 1. Now add three level scoring machine [player_tooltip player_id='1848619' first='Darius' last='Frazier'] (transfer from Germantown Friends) to the mix. Plus, the emergence of backcourt players Samuel Thomas (2024) and rising sophomore Haneef Davis as legitimate college prospects has been a pleasant surprise. With that five-some Dobbins now has an impressive lineup that will draw eyes of college coaches from all levels.
