When he first subbed in to the game he immediately drained a pair of threes to give his team an offensive boast. After going back to the bench and subbing back in, he once again drained two threes. The type of player who you can have run off screens and he'll be able to catch and quickly get squared up off the move to get into his shot. Great footwork and hands running off screens allowing him to get off his shot before his defender can catch up. At 6'5 he offers a nice blend of length and mobility on the wing that allows him to defend a variety of spots and create his own shots off the dribble. I knew he was a shooter and he once again showed that by draining a handful of threes throughout the game, but he impressed with some aggressive drives and finishes putting his height to use at the rim. Nearly threw down a huge dunk and had a few tough finishes going straight into contact at the rim. Don't let his frame fool you, Collins can come out and give you buckets no matter who you throw on him. He faced off against guards while also having 6'5 and 6'8 forwards try to slow him down. Collins doesn't need to create a ton of separation to get off his shot, as he has a unique release point that makes it extremely difficult to block his shot. Showed some wiggle to get to the rim and finish, good footwork on some turnaround jumpers, and hit some tough outside shots with a hand right in his face. In the game I watched he drained 6 threes on his way to 22 points in a win over MN Lace Up, while later in the day he drained 8 threes as he scored 31 points in a Sweet 16 win. The lefty guard is one of the state's elite shooters with such a smooth stroke from deep, and he's not afraid to let it fly as soon as the ball hits his hands. Nothing overly flashy about his game, but he goes out and produces at a consistent level for his team. Early in the game he was just finding ways to get the ball around the basket with his off-ball movement and finished just about every chance he got. When he gets the ball he's very patient and excels at getting defenders in the air with a head-fake before going up to finish. He embraces tough matchups, and with his blend of athleticism and strength at 6'4 he was constantly cutting off drives and getting great contests on any jumpers his man took. On the offensive end he can make passes that not every high schooler can make as he has great vision and the height to see over the top of opposing guards. He's the type of player that can heat up in a hurry, and his ability to fire off shots from way beyond the high school arc seems to catch defenders off guard at times. If he catches and gets his feet squared just about anywhere within 30 feet, there's a chance Abe will let it fly and put 3 points on the board.
