Charlie brings 100% effort every time he steps on the floor. Never going to impress with any flashy plays, but gets the job done producing as a versatile defender, rebounder, and finisher. He’s a competitive player who’s able to guard bigger than his size because of how scrappy he is fighting for position around the basket. Going to be the first guy on his team fighting for a 50/50 ball looking to secure extra possessions for his team. Offensively he just seems to have a nose for getting to the rim, and utilizes shot fakes to get guys in the air before going up to finish. Able to attack off the dribble, run his lane in transition, or move off the ball to open up scoring opportunities.

In a tight game with some trash talking going back and forth, Charlie always looked calm and composed. Nothing overly flashy about his game, but he goes out and produces at a consistent level for his team. Early in the game he was just finding ways to get the ball around the basket with his off-ball movement and finished just about every chance he got. When he gets the ball he’s very patient and excels at getting defenders in the air with a head-fake before going up to finish. At 6’3-6’4 he provides an additional rebounding presence for his team, and was able to guard a variety of spots on the defensive end of the floor.

Geske, who at one point many considered an unknown quantity, because of his unsung playing style, is quickly becoming someone we all should know his name. In the second half, after he hit a couple shots in a row, I realized this prospect had 20. I am impressed with the way he just works and when his team needed a bucket he was in the right spot at the right time. Averaging 14.6ppg on the year, the 22 he dropped today will of course help that. Come playoff time the Lancer’s will be a tough beat if his performances like this continues. Then if he works during the summer, it could springboard him into a solid senior year.

Charlie is one of the players that has his Brookfield Central club out to an exciting 11-1 record.  He is averaging a very respectful 14.5 ppg and a .386 shooting percentage beyond the ark. Having seen the prospect play a tough Wauwatosa West club. With his team trailing at the half Geske comes out to hit 5-7 3 pointers, to score his season high 23 points, and helped to assure the victory. Then against the same team, a team full of taller players, he was able to tally 7 rebounds. I believe that the way he has played this season is setting himself up for success next season as well.
