Hunter Caldwell Hunter Caldwell 6'10" | PF Lutheran | 2024 State CO – Lutheran – 2024
Caldwell has continued to ascend, showing growth in aggression and skill month by month. Already a legitimate stretch forward, the incoming senior has begun knocking down threes at a consistent clip of 2+ per game. He has flashed off the dribble shotmaking in the mid-range, even hitting a step back just below the free throw line on Saturday. His continued growth as an interior scorer is intriguing, finishing on spin moves or traditional straight line drives on multiple occasions this weekend. His finishing touch through contact will be looked at closely, given the high center of gravity. Defensively, Caldwell was active deterring drivers at the rim, doing well to get one or both arms up for legal contests. His continued growth on the defensive glass will be watched closely, a significant factor towards his collective upside.
Nicholas Buchenau Nicholas Buchenau 6'4" | SF Kent Denver | 2024 State CO – Kent Denver – 2024
Buchenau brought an incredible dosage of energy with Kent Denver, attacking the glass with purpose and knocking down shots in big moments. At roughly 6’4, he was constantly searching for ways to impact the game with or without the ball. His intensity grabbing rebounds was infectious among his teammates, hyping up the team when going for second chance opportunities. His energy translated to the defensive glass, getting strong for defensive rebounds and moving away opponents. Although not especially high volume, Buchenau was efficient hitting three point shots off the catch. Certainly one Kent Denver’ most impactful prospects.
Kyree Polk – Vista PEAK Prep – 2024
Polk is all too difficult to contain around the paint, once getting up nobody has any particular desire to contest those shots. At roughly 220 pounds, Polk is one of the most physically developed prospects in the state, all while standing at 6’9. His two-way rebounding has been his calling card, simply too big and strong to be moved out of the way. Continuing to develop his post game and improve the volume of those touches is important for the big, given his soft touch on short hooks and finishes versus contact.
Gyasi Hawthorne Gyasi Hawthorne 6'5" | SF Northfield | 2025 State CO – Northfield – 2025
Hawthorne possesses excellent defensive instincts for his height at 6’3. The rangy forward has a wide reach, allowing him to send away shots at a high volume at the rim. He is fairly versatile defending up to three positions, guarding down against both backcourt threats and smaller wings. His growth on the offensive end will be intriguing, given his wide reach and moldable frame.
Treyton Fletcher Treyton Fletcher 6'6" | PF Littleton | 2024 State CO – Littleton – 2024
Fletcher was on fire this weekend, in one particular matchup he knocked down four triples in one half of play. The bulky forward looks healthy and is continuing to improve his mobility. He has gotten more on-ball reps, bringing up the ball and setting up the offense. Fletcher brings a refreshing perimeter centric playstyle in a big forward, who can work with his back to basket if necessary.
