There has been a ton of movement throughout the rankings, and you can bet there will be more to come. With all the changes, reclassing, and transferring these may be the most exciting rankings to date as every spot is up for grabs. As we approach July 17th, here are 5 things to look for when the new rankings are released.
New Number 1’s – With DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV reclassing and Chris Nwuli Chris Nwuli 6'7" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2025 State #38 Nation UT transferring, the #1 player spot in both the class of 2024 and 2025 will be up for grabs. Injury Updates – A few players returning from injury will have the opportunity to increase their rankings in the next couple of weeks. Spring Valley guards Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV and Jamison McCall Jamison McCall 6'0" | CG Spring Valley | 2024 State NV are both rounding into form after coming back from knee injuries during the season. Reno forward Dominic Williams Dominic Williams 6'5" | SF Reed | 2024 State NV should be back and ready for his senior year, and Basic sniper Christian Baltierrez Christian Baltierrez 6'0" | SG Basic | 2024 State NV should all have opportunities to increase their rankings over the next few updates.
Who’s New – Expect each class to get a boost in total numbers of players ranked, as the extra month, grassroots season, and Summer Leagues have provided even more time to evaluate players. In addition to the aforementioned Ndiaye, expect to see several new players have an impact on the rankings. Clark big man Werrason Bakindo Werrason Bakindo 6'5" | PF Clark | 2024 State NV , Palo PG Ethan Inocencio Ethan Inocencio 5'11" | CG Palo Verde | 2026 State NV , and Losee Power high flyer, Zion Gayle Zion Gayle 6'5" | PF Somerset Losee | 2025 State NV all could have a significant impact in their first rankings appearance.
Northern Notables – Without a doubt, the rankings are heavily slanted toward players in the South, however, several players from the North have made enough of an impression to factor in the rankings. In addition to Williams from Reno, 2025 PG Conner Sheets Conner Sheets 6'1" | CG Spanish Springs | 2025 , 2026 sharpshooter Tommy Williams Tommy Williams 6'3" | CG Incline | 2025 State NV , and 2024 forward Jace Anderson Jace Anderson 6'7" | PF Damonte Ranch | 2024 State NV , all have top-25 potential. Players like Jeremiah Pitts from Douglas, Josh Peterson Josh Peterson 6'1" | SG Reed | 2026 State NV from Reed, and Bryce Stephens Bryce Stephens 6'2" | SG Fernley | 2026 State NV all have a chance to rise.
Small School Power – 2023-24 could be the year of the small school as several 2 and 3A schools have players throughout the rankings. Josiah Stroughter Josiah Stroughter 6'0" | CG Democracy Prep | 2026 State NV and Tai Coleman Tai Coleman 5'10" | PG Democracy Prep | 2026 State NV are both top 5 players in their class for Democracy Prep. Meadows guard Grant Moses Grant Moses 5'11" | PG Meadows | 2026 State NV has had a solid spring, and his forward counterpart Cyrus Hutchison Cyrus Hutchison 6'6" | SF Meadows | 2025 State NV is one of the top players in the class of 2025. Look for some or all of them to rise, as well as others to crack the list.
