Leach played probably the hardest of any player I saw all weekend. He came off the bench for All-Ohio Red 16U and immediately gave them a defensive spark. He came in and changed the speed of the game immediately for his benefit. He is an extremely long player with very active hands in the passing lanes. He turned the other team over multiple times with his defensive pressure on the ball and jumping passing lanes anticipating and reading the pass. I love how he came in and was focused on impacting the game in other ways than the scoring. When he got out in transition his finishing was great. He was able to do it in traffic with multiple people around him. Once again he showed a lot of flashes of being a special player this weekend.
McMorris is a big athletic kid. Listed at 6’7 and is built well with wide shoulders he showcases very explosive leaping ability. When he jumps it seems like he is looking down on the rim. He was in foul trouble in the game I watched but when he was in the game he showed some great tools and fundamentals of being a really good player. He is super coordinated and moves with quickness and speed. He has a forward body but moves like a guard. He can switch to any position when defending the ball screens. I am a big fan of McMorris’s games because he has a lot of unteachables.
Kropp has been a kid I have been excited about since I saw him in the high school season this past year. He is a big kid that is right on his feet. He moves very well. Runs the floor well and runs it consistently. He was very active on the glass in the game I saw and it was very nice to see him play a player bigger than him making him play more of the power forward role instead of the center like how is accustomed to in high school. Him, in this role, he showcased his shooting ability more to put it on the floor and make plays not only for himself but others.
Calloway has a great amount of talent. Super skilled guard that puts the ball in the rim at a high clip. He showed good 2-level scoring ability from beyond the arc and attacking the rim. When he was attacking the rim he never let anyone bump him off of his path and finished over bigger more athletic players consistently. He opened up lanes for himself with his dribbling moves and shiftiness. I also really like how he started the game I was at by attacking the rim first making the defense respect that and anticipating it before he decided to start shooting it more. He showed great fakes of going in that led to quick pull-up 3s off the dribble.
