Below are five predictions for the Post & Pivot Philly Spring Fling which takes place tonight and then all-day Saturday at Jefferson University.

1) WeR1 UAA vs. NJ Scholars (15U) Will Be a Tremendous Contest

With an abundance of the top 2026 prospects in the region taking the court for this game, how can it not be a must-see event? Running the floor for Scholars will be electric combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1613878' first='RJ' last='Smith'], point god [player_tooltip player_id='1608257' first='Ian' last='Williams'] and scoring wing [player_tooltip player_id='1888747' first='Latief' last='Lorenzano-White']. Plus, Scholars features nationally ranked 2027 prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1406767' first='Munir' last='Greig']. On the other side, WeR1 boasts three of our top ranked 2026s in [player_tooltip player_id='1890563' first='Makel' last='Butts'], [player_tooltip player_id='1406763' first='Bryce' last='Presley'] and Malik Myatt. As a bonus, lightening quick stop-n-pop artist [player_tooltip player_id='1888856' first='Khabir' last='Washington'] plays for this WeR1 squad. Tipoff is at 7:40PM Friday night.

2) [player_tooltip player_id='1187959' first='Larenzo' last='Jerkins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1589161' first='Jahseir' last='Sayles'] Will Put on a Show

This pair of athletic wings are posting a breakout spring with BW Elite. Jerkins was one of the top grassroots performers in April. He led BW Elite to their division title at the Pitt Jam Fest and was named 1st Team All-HGSL for the month. Jerkins can score at all 3-levels. On defense he blocks shots and will guard 1 through 4. Sayles has been a more under the radar, but he is an ultra-talented prospect as well. Sayles is a slasher prospect with enormous length and good rim-to-rim speed. He provides scoring, rebounding and suffocating defense.

3) PA Coalition HGSL vs. Philly Revolution (17U) is Going to Be Entertaining

Both teams can fill it up, so we expect a high scoring, crowd pleasing contest. PA Coalition owns a loaded roster that won their division title at the HG Spring Jam Fest last month. Their talented guards Dior Kennedy and [player_tooltip player_id='1850287' first='Zuri' last='Harris'] can get buckets off the dribble or drain threes. Shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1281760' first='Isaac' last='Dye'] is one of the top 3-point shooters in the state (84 threes in 2022-23). The multi-skilled Kodi Johnson is a sleeper prospect on this squad. Philly Rev 17s are stocked with prospects who can put the ball in the bucket too. [player_tooltip player_id='1483181' first='Josh' last='Reed'] is an incredible athlete who thrives in transition. In the half court he can score from anywhere on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='1188249' first='Kevin' last='McCarthy'] is a skilled wing who can hit threes or slash to the cup. [player_tooltip player_id='1173991' first='Jaden' last='Murray'] is an elite small forward. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1123911' first='Ron' last='Brown III'] pushes this group. Brown was a maestro during the April live period and put his name on the recruiting map. Tipoff is at 4:30PM on Saturday.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='1850267' first='Reece' last='Garvin']'s Recruiting Stock Goes Up

Back in March, this junior's perimeter shooting was a big reason Exeter advanced to the 5A state tournament title game. Now that Garvin is playing on grassroots ball with PMT Warriors, the up-tempo nature of the circuit will give him an opportunity to prove he can do more than just splash threes all day. Starting this weekend, Garvin will show he can also score off dribble drives, hit mid-range jumpers, and serve as a secondary ball handler. Be sure to watch Garvin's off ball movement. It is some of the best in the region.

5) Mt. Pleasant Bulldogs 17u Posts Impressive Weekend

MPB 2024 group is a team we watched develop and gel during the 2022 spring / summer circuit. They were playing their best basketball as the July 2022 live period ended. So, we have huge expectations for them this spring/summer. Point guard Emeer Combs is filthy. He can score or distribute and is a plus defensive player. Combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='1678657' first='Nate' last='Townsend'] can blow past slow footed defenders or bully smaller guards. Townsend will also drop the occasional triple. In short, he is match-up nightmare for opponents. Shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='1589202' first='Aamir' last='Murray'] is a walking bucket who constantly attacks the cup. 6'7” small forward Anthony Lilly is one of the best kept secrets in the region. 6'6” Derrick White and 6'4” Anthony Brown are prospects to keep an eye on as well.
