I was able to take in every team from the 15U division today and came up with a solid list of standouts from the day. Here’s a quick glimpse at some of the top performers and what they were able to do, leaving me impressed and ready for more games tomorrow.
Arman Mahvani | 6’4 | American/CA | OTD | 2026
Big kid who was instrumental in helping his team play at the rim and clean up misses inside. He’s a skilled kid with a good blend of size, touch, and footwork that could look to get more aggressive inside. Plays a pretty smart game and was efficient with his touches.
Denzel Jackson | 6’1 | Mt. Eden/CA | OTD | 2026
Really quick, penetrating guard that got to two feet effectively inside and managed to stay under control most of the day while being aggressive off the dribble. He was taking it strong to the hoop and has the handles to break his man down again and again.
Kareem Artharee Kareem Artharee 6'3" | CG Gresham | 2026 State OR | 6’3 | Gresham/OR | More than Hoops | 2026
This guy continues to play at a high level with a superior motor around the paint, following shots, attacking the glass, and bringing a physical style of play to any team he’s going up against. He has great feet inside to wiggle through defenses on the interior. Strong hands, quick second jump, and a will to compete.
Quentin Neal Quentin Neal 6'2" | CG Centennial | 2026 State OR | 6’2 | Benson/OR | More than Hoops | 2026
Neal comes up with big plays and fills the gaps for his team. He can put it on the floor, utilizes pumps effectively and can hit shots from mid-range to the arc. Another kid for More than Hoops with a solid motor.
Brayden Miller | 6’1 | Scappoose/OR | More than Hoops | 2026
He was a key floor stretcher today and hit some timely threes late in the game to give his team life. Found cutters at the right time and made some smart drives when defenders closed out too hard.
Amare Waterford | 5’11 | Modesto/CA | No Fear Elite | 2027
He was a big initiator for No Fear Elite on the day. Spurring action to the rim with his ability to catch and go. He put up some decently acrobatic finishes and did well to draw fouls and get to the line.
Pierce Bierlink Pierce Bierlink 6'0" | PG Quincy | 2026 State WA | 6’0 | Quincy/WA | BDH Elite | 2026
Just a smart player who grounds his team at times and keeps them from getting out of control. A kid who sees the floor well, recognizes defensive schemes and controls the pace when he’s out there.
Josiah Edwards Josiah Edwards 6'4" | SF Graham Kapowsin | 2026 State WA | 6’4 | Graham Kapowsin/WA | BDH Elite | 2026
He continues to assert himself on the glass, racking up the rebounds on both sides of the floor and showed great fight for 50/50 balls on the day. He’s a grinder with a lot of potential who can also step up to make plays on the defensive end.
Deryk Farmer Deryk Farmer 6'2" | SG Cascade Christian | 2026 State OR | 6’3 | Cascade Christian/OR | BDH Elite | 2026
Farmer kills defenses from the middle with a sticky pivot foot that allows him to stop on a dime, plant, pump, and knock down mid-range shots. One of the stronger finishers in his division, he’s a physically imposing kid who takes it right to defenses.
Malakai Weimer Malakai Weimer 6'3" | SF Skyview | 2026 State WA | 6’3 | Skyview/WA | BDH Elite | 2026
This guy reminds me of the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes. His ability to get defenders moving and spin back towards the rim is unstoppable at times. Quick hands on defense and a great motor, he has potential to be a dual-threat playmaker with all the attention he draws.
Landen Cline | 5’8 | Winlock/WA | Xpress | 2027
One of the more effective slashers on the day. He has a quick first step and sees angles well to attack defenders, knife in between slow rotations and was a mainstay at the rim, finishing with intent and an almost reckless abandon.
Trevin Gale | 6’0 | Toldeo/WA | Xpress | 2026
He’s a solid secondary scorer for them who can make plays slashing to the rim. Off the ball, he makes quick, decisive cuts and provided a little bit of outside shooting his team desperately needed.
Cooper Fallon | 6’4 | Toledo/WA | Xpress | 2026
Solid kid with some nice touch around the rim. Used the power dribble time and again to gather himself, get into power positions and go up through defenders to finish with strength.
