After watching the first few rounds of games on Saturday morning here is a quick notebook dump of what I saw.
8:00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Crew
With no games scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, I was able to get a little extra sleep and not get to Warren Central High School until 9:00 a.m. I began the day checking out some Class of 2026 prospects from Indiana before catching the second half of Ty Harris Elite 2024’s game.
T.J. Williams Jr. (Purdue Poly Tech 2026) and Chrishon Woodward (North Central H.S. 2026) immediately caught my attention for Circle City Shooters Elite 2026 in their game against EG10 ‘ last=”]’ last=”] 2026. Williams Jr. was getting a lot done off of the dribble and consistently finished with a nice right-handed floater in the intermediate range. He is a new name to remember in the current freshman class. As for Woodward, he was already on our radar after some strong showing on the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring. The 6’5″ forward possesses a well-rounded skill set at his size and runs the floor very well. Anytime you see a young prospect that can move the way he does and finish with both hands around the basket it is going to grab your attention.
Indiana Elite Aldridge 2026 woke up from a slow start and went on to defeat Progeny 2026 by a final score of 68-48. Ethan Roseman Ethan Roseman 6'0" | PG Bishop Chatard | 2026 State IN (Bishop Chatard 2026) led the way with 13 points while Cameron Webster Cameron Webster 5'11" | PG Lawrence North | 2026 State IN (Lawrence North H.S. 2026) and Terrencio Davis Jr. Terrencio Davis Jr. 5'7" | PG Thrival Academy | 2026 IN (Thrival Academy 2026) each added 12 points in the win. This is a fun group to watch that has had a ton of success this spring.
For Ty Harris Elite 2024, it was Demetrius Jenkins Demetrius Jenkins 6'2" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2024 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2024) that stood out with his excellent physical tools and athleticism. He is a smooth left-hander that displayed his pull-up jump shot and some explosiveness when driving to the basket. Mason Lewis Mason Lewis 5'9" | PG Crispus Attucks | 2024 State IN (North Central H.S. 2024) was playing well also creating a backcourt tandem for Ty Harris Elite.
Indiana’s Class of 2025 Shines
There is absolutely no shortage of talent in Indiana’s Class of 2025. It is very strong at the top and extremely deep as well. A few really impressive up-and-coming prospects in the class showed off their skills on Saturday morning at the G3 Invitational.
Nizyi Davis Nizyi Davis 6'6" | SF Lawrence Central | 2025 State IN (Lawrence Central H.S. 2025) was excellent in a 66-63 win for Kyle Guy Elite over D1 Indiana . The 6’4″ forward had a stretch in the first half where he knocked in a corner three-pointer, crashed the glass from the perimeter for an athletic tip-in, and then scored it off of the dribble with a midrange pull-up. Having the athleticism and skill to do all of that on essentially three straight possessions is very impressive. I came away intrigued with the upside of Bryce Renn Bryce Renn 6'10" | PF Terre Haute North | 2025 State IN (Terre Haute North H.S. 2025) as well. The 6’8″ forward is very thin, but was consistently involved in the rebounding efforts, blocked some shots, and showed his offensive skill stepping out to make a corner three-point shot. One to watch as he continues to develop.
For Progeny 2025, it is all about the talented backcourt. Lonte Ward (Indianapolis Lutheran 2025), Damon Howard Damon Howard 6'1" | PG Pike | 2025 State IN (Pike H.S. 2025), and Nijah Jewell (North Central H.S. 2025) make up a three-headed monster of guards that can all REALLY play. Ward is a smaller guard, but more than makes up for it with some of the state’s most explosive leaping ability. He is an above-the-rim finisher, very quick off of the dribble, and scores it at the end of his drives in a variety of ways. Howard is more of a jump shooting guard with a smooth shot both from the mid-range and out beyond the arc. Jewell is a perfect 3-and-D type of prospect with good length, a smooth outside shoot, and the versatility to guard multiple positions.
Kyle Guy Elite Black 2024 & Indiana Ice 2024 3SGB Pick Up Victories
On side-by-side courts there were two great matchups of Class of 2024 Indiana grassroots programs with Indiana Ice 3SGB taking on EG10 ‘ last=”]’ last=”] and Kyle Guy Elite Black facing off with Progeny.
Playing up a year, Tanner Teschendorf Tanner Teschendorf 6'2" | PG Mount Vernon (Fortville) | 2025 State IN (Mount Vernon Fortville H.S. 2025) led the way with 21 points for Kyle Guy Elite while sharpshooter Eli Ellis Eli Ellis 5'11" | SG Plainfield | 2024 State IN (Plainfield H.S. 2024) added 19 points. They took down Progeny 60-50. In the loss, Evan Haywood (Brebeuf Jesuit 2024) scored 20 points for Progeny.
On the other court, Indiana Ice had an impressive comeback victory in overtime defeating EG10 ‘ last=”]’ last=”] 62-59. The backcourt duo of Zayvion Baker Zayvion Baker 5'10" | PG Terre Haute South | 2024 State IN (Terre Haute South H.S. 2024) and Ron Rutland III Ron Rutland III 6'1" | SG Crispus Attucks | 2024 State IN (Crispus Attucks H.S. 2024) combined to make six three-pointers and finished with 18 and 17 points respectively for Indiana Ice .
