I’ve been taking a look at highlights from Class of 2024 prospects from Iowa. We’ve hit crunch time for the group as it winds down its junior year of high school. I linked the first four installments above.
Here’s Part V:
Ty Pflughaupt Ty Pflughaupt 6'4" | SF North Linn | 2024 State IA , G, North Linn – Pflughaupt (6-4) can score from anywhere on the floor thanks to a sharp set of skills and long arms. They help him rebound really well for a guard and finish at the rim. His outside shot is pure with excellent form. Pflughaupt hustles and possesses a high basketball IQ. He paced the Lynx in their run to the state title game with 7.8 rebounds per outing. He scored 15.8 points per contest along with dishing out 2.5 assists and swiping 2.5 steals. He recently was offered an opportunity by Coe College.
Trevan Krumrei Trevan Krumrei 6'5" | SF Kennedy | 2024 State IA , G, Cedar Rapids Kennedy – Minutes were tough to come by at Kennedy in ’22-23 with the Cougars reaching postseason unbeaten. Krumrei made the most of the ones given to him and has continued his strong play this Spring. He can knock down open shots from long range and gets it off quickly. He finishes well with both hands at the rim and rebounds well for a guard.
Deion Kinnetz-Jenkins Deion Kinnetz-Jenkins 6'0" | PG Waukee | 2024 State IA , PG, Waukee – Like Krumrei, Kinnetz-Jenkins (5-11) saw fewer minutes on a talented squad than he might have otherwise somewhere else. It limited his ability to show off his shooting. Still, he knocked down 12 of 27 three-point attempts last season. He repeats his shot well with good form. He’s a solid athlete with a good handle.
Brady Martin Brady Martin 6'0" | PG West Burlington | 2024 State IA , G, West Burlington – Martin (6-0) checks in at No. 23 in Prep Hoops’ 2024 Class rankings for Iowa, so he certainly isn’t an unknown. Like the rest of the guys in this series, his presence in the rundown is because he’s being under-recruited in relation to his ability. He led the Falcons in scoring (17.0 PPG) and steals (3.0) last season. He added 3.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists. His fundamentals are sharp. He brings a nice mid-range game and sees the floor well.
Camden Davis Camden Davis 6'5" | SF Hudson | 2024 State IA , G, Hudson – The 6-foot-4 Davis averaged led the Pirates in scoring (19.7 PPG) and rebounding (10.6 RPG) in ’22-23. The production was not an accident. He can play, as he’s continued showing this Spring. He’s a three-level scorer and a good athlete. A broad skill set gives him position versatility. He plays with great effort and has a good feel for game flow.
Sage Suntken Sage Suntken 6'0" | CG West Fork | 2024 State IA , PG, West Fork – A good football player and all-around athlete, the 6-foot Suntken is a college basketball prospect thanks to excellent range on his outside shot and an ability to run the point. He averaged 14.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists as a junior. He does a nice job setting up teammates with an good understanding of when to do so and when to take it himself.
Cade Eberling, G, West Fork – Eberling (6-4) caught my eye while I was watching highlights of Warhawk teammate Sage Suntken Sage Suntken 6'0" | CG West Fork | 2024 State IA . Eberling led the squad in scoring (16.4 PPG) last season. He did so showing off some impressive athleticism. He had to have led Class 1A in dunks. He boasts as solid set of skills to add to his bounciness. He plays fast but under control.
