Perkins is an absolute pest. He had some of the best defense I saw all weekend. He is an incredibly quick and fast player. He gets into your shorts and doesn’t let you breathe all game. He does a perfect job of using his chest and sliding his feet on defense. He is not the biggest player on the court but he uses it to his benefit. He steals the ball if you are loose with it at all. He did not show too much for me offensively besides just running the offense and getting players involved. Exactly what you want in my opinion. He made some really good decisions with the ball in transition but defense is where this kid thrives.
I liked what I saw from Mattucci this past weekend. He has great size and length for his position. Nice athleticism that seems like it will only get better. He moves like he has springs in his shoes. He is a super-skilled player that shows some real talent. He knows how to play the game. He can score it from every level and shows some real flashes of being special. He made some high-difficulty-level finishes around the rim. Knocked down shots at a high clip from beyond the arc.
Plantz has a very high ceiling. The kid is big and moves well. He is listed as 6’6 with a very long wingspan. He moves very well but seems to still need to be figuring things out. Figuring out the angles and wants for him to attack the rim. He plays very long which is good but bad as well because he takes up a lot of space. A very raw prospect that I believe has the chance to be a really good player. Athletically has all the tools; fast, strong, and big. Guarded all five positions this past weekend. Showed a good-looking jumper but didn’t hit too many shots. He caught a very nice transition alley-oop. Knows how to play the game and plays hard. He did a good job of rebounding.
