Today, we will be continuing my "Bluegrass State Standouts" series as we move onto another set of talented players in a new position. Brown made a huge difference on the court for the Commanders during his junior stint of high school basketball. In 33 games, Brown recorded a grand total of 338 points and 144 rebounds, averaging 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Brown also shot 41.3% (112-271) from field goal range, 39.3% (59-150) from beyond the arc and 83.3% (55-66) from the free throw line. Grubbs made his presence known on the court for the Blazers during his junior season of high school basketball. In 25 contests, Grubbs was the third-best scoring machine on the team, picking up a total of 231 points and 69 rebounds, averaging 8.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Grubbs additionally shot 33.8% (88-260) from field goal range, 20.7% (18-87) from beyond the arc and 59.7% (37-62) from the free throw line. Neal was both efficient and highly explosive on the court for the Mustangs during his junior season. In 31 games, Neal was one of the top scorers on the team, picking up a grand total of 261 points and 60 rebounds, averaging 8.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Neal additionally shot 43.7% (97-222) from the field, 35.7% (40-112) from three-point range and 67.5% (27-40) from the free throw line. Whitaker was highly explosive on the court for the Briar Jumpers during his sophomore season of high school basketball. In 26 contests, Whitaker was the top scorer on the team, picking up a total of 482 points and 105 rebounds, averaging 18.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Whitaker additionally shot 43.7% (156-357) from the field, 44.9% (92-205) from the three-point line and 83.9% (78-93) from the free throw line. In 29 games, Hussey was the second-best scoring weapon on the roster, recording a total of 362 points and 121 rebounds, averaging 12.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. Hussey additionally shot 45.7% (132-289) from field goal range, 35.5% (49-138) from beyond the arc and 77.8% (49-63) from the free throw line. In addition to excellent size and speed, the rising senior out of Covington, KY. adds solid versatility, efficiency and explosiveness from the top of the key, around the perimeter and in the paint.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
