Obviously, everyone dreams of playing at that level and the chances of being seen always provides a little extra buzz in the air. However, for the overwhelming vast majority of prospects, those Division I coaches aren’t coming anyway. That makes weekends like this last one at the Bill Hensley Memorial Run ‘N Slam so important. For Division II, Division II, and NAIA programs this is the premier recruiting event of the spring. That was certainly proven in Fort Wayne this weekend with the excellent turnout by coaches at those levels. Here are eight current freshmen and sophomore prospects from the state of Indiana that stood out.
One of the more explosive athletes in Indiana’s Class of 2025, Barnes was scoring at a high-level for Indy Heat 2025 – Red this weekend in Fort Wayne. He can consistently get to the rim and finish off of the dribble, scores from the perimeter with good shooting ability, and can impact the game on the ball defensively. Barnes began tournament play on Saturday with a 26-point outburst. Very intriguing 6’1″ guard that already holds a few low-major Division I offers.
You can’t help but be impressed watching this dynamic left-handed guard play. Hall had it cooking all weekend long while leading Indy Heat 2026 – EYBL to the 15u title and a 6-0 overall record. His athleticism allows him to get to the rim and finish while also having the skill to score from beyond the arc. There will continue to be some early offers come in for one of the top prospects in the class from Indiana.

An under-the-radar prospect from Crispus Attucks High School, Lott-Hancock led Grand Park Premier 2025 – UAA to a 3-0 record in a loaded Pool E before bowing out to Indiana Elite 2025 – 3SSB in bracket play. The lefty two-way wing has good size at 6’4″, shoots the ball well from beyond the arc, and is a versatile defender. He projects as a prototypical 3-and-D type of player at the next level.

I watched Mullins help lead Indiana Elite 2025 – 3SSB to a victory on Saturday morning against a very talented Wisconsin Playground 2025 – UAA team. Seemingly every time I see him play he has gotten a little bigger physically while also looking more explosiveness athletically. When you pair his 6’5″ frame, improving physical attributes, and elite shooting ability you get one of the top prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2025. I would expect his list of offers to continue growing into the summer months.

This 6’8″ forward recently picked up his first scholarship offer from Central Florida and certainly looked like a future high-major player this weekend at the Run ‘N Slam. Pickett is such a fluid athlete for his size, rebounds his area very well, and has a versatile inside-outside game on the offensive end. He was a consistent standout for Indy Heat 2025 – EYBL on their way to the Semi-Finals of the tournament. As he continues to prove himself as a stretch 4-man the offers should keep coming his way.
Playing up at the 17u level certainly didn’t slow down this freshman prospect from Bishop Chatard. Roseman had games of 23 points and 17 points to start the weekend, then went off for 35 in a hard fought win over Anchor Basketball 2024. The point guard playing with Indy Heat 2024 – Competitive Greatness finished off averaging an incredible 26 points per game at the Run ‘N Slam. He is one of the best playmakers in Indiana’s Class of 2026.

Wellman has continued to get bigger and visibility stronger to become an even tougher wing to guard. The 6’4″ versatile scorer has an excellent inside-outside game that he had on display while leading Indiana Game 2025 – UA Rise to the Bronze bracket championship at the Run ‘N Slam. In-state college programs are starting to really take notice and it might not be much longer before the offers start to come for him.
