Riley’s advanced scoring arsenal was on full display on Saturday. He is a knockdown shooter off the catch, as well as off of the dribble. He has smooth mechanics and is very confident when he has the ball in his hands. He is crafty with the ways he can create space to get his shots off, using hesitations and pump fakes to keep his defender guessing. He was also a factor in transition, cashing in easy layups and picking up some assists to running teammates. Johnson and Northstar Titans Bertsch are 2-0 on the weekend thus far.

Luka has so much potential as a player and took over late in the game to take down a talented PLUTO Prospects team. He has great size and skill for a sophomore as he already stands at 6-foot-7 and can stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting. He caught fire down the stretch in a tight game, connecting with four huge second half triples. His makes either came in the catch-and-shoot or by just taking advantage of a weak contest, shooting right over defenders. The 2025 forward also showed some flashes of shot creating, putting the ball on the floor for an impressive finish at the basket.

Ulysses really interested me as a prospect on Saturday with the combination of his athleticism and wide variety of skills. Offensively, he was more than capable of handling a majority of the scoring load, as I saw him score from all three levels. He knocked down a pair of catch-and-shoot triples, hit a fadeaway jumper with his back to the basket, and used his strength to work himself all the way to the rim for a finish. Brown also impressed me with some big time blocks and rebounds.
Dylan was fun to watch go to work in isolation situations and he connected with some super tough shots. He is an ultra confident shooter and was letting it fly from deep all game. He finished the hard fought loss with 30 points and looked unfazed by opponents’ contests. He had a handful of moves he could go to to create separation and could knock down shots quickly off the dribble. He also had some nice dribble move combinations to get himself to the basket for some impressive finishes. I really liked what Marquart brought to the table as an offensive weapon.

Josiah provided a much needed spark for Northstar Titans, coming off of the bench and scoring at will when his team needed him. In Saturday’s win, all of his baskets came in the second half, being one of the go-to-guys down the stretch in a tight game. He was doing damage from all three levels and did a great job at setting up his opponents to remain unpredictable. He is pretty shifty and found no issues getting around defenders or finishing through traffic.

Trent put together a solid performance on Saturday night, using his strength to get what he wanted. He had several strong takes to the basket, sometimes drawing fouls or other times converting a tough finish despite loads of traffic. He was very tough to stop when he was able to get to his right hand and did a good job attacking poor closeouts by defenders. The Howards Grove sophomore also looked comfortable stepping out and shooting from the outside in the limited action I was able to see.
Wenzler was a key piece in Saturday’s win, being a consistent scorer from start to finish. Early in the game, he was finding success getting downhill, going right at opponents, absorbing contact, then finishing through traffic. He also showed that he is capable of stepping out to the perimeter, knocking down a pair of mid-range jump shots. He stands at 6’4” and has a solid frame, which allowed him to play physically when necessary as well. I really like what I saw out of Jonah and this deep Chapman squad.
