Here are the seven bigs added to the 2025 rankings:
6 – Nic Anderson Nic Anderson 6'3" | SF Olathe South | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-3 forward, 2025, Olathe South:
It takes something special to go from unranked to #6 in the class. But what a great sophomore year this guy had. He’s a long, athletic playmaker who can play just about every spot on the floor. He gets buckets off his high release jumper and ability to get to shots off the bounce. He averaged 19 points per game. Anderson was one of the most decorated sophomores in the state, grabbing first team in the Sunflower League and second team from Sports in Kansas, in addition to honorable mention from the other outlets.
22 – Chase Robinson Chase Robinson 6'4" | PF Wichita Heights | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-4 forward, 2025, Wichita Heights:
A team that has been loaded the past two seasons looked to Robinson for important minutes. As a freshman, he played a little on the road to the 6A championship. His role grew as a sophomore. He gave the Falcons defense, rebounding and a physical body off the bench. His 6 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist won’t stand out, but his contribution to a top team merits recognition. Look for his role to continue to expand.
37 – Brady Brumbaugh Brady Brumbaugh 6'5" | SG Goodland | 2025 State KS , 6-3 forward, 2025, Goodland (pictured):
Brumbaugh has been a standout for Goodland for two seasons, developing into the team leader last year. He averaged 12 points and 3 rebounds en route to second team Great West Activities. He is an impressive athlete on the wing or even at the point at times. He’s got size and length and nice athleticism. He’s solid defensively and scoring at all three levels.
40 – Keveon Ruiz Keveon Ruiz 6'1" | SF Medicine Lodge | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-1 forward, 2025, Medicine Lodge:
After a really fine sophomore season, Ruiz popped in the 2A state tournament. He scored 34 points over three games, leading Medicine Lodge to third place. He’s a physical player with nice athleticism. He can put the ball on the floor and create shots, and he helped the smaller Indians team guard bigs at the tournament. Ruiz averaged 13.5 points and 5 rebounds as a sophomore, earning second team 2A from Sports in Kansas and third team from KSHSAA.
50 – Carter Burnett Carter Burnett 6'4" | PF Wellington | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-4 forward, 2025, Wellington:
There were a lot of good veterans on the Wellington team that advanced to 4A state, so it was impressive that Burnett carved out such a big role for himself as a sophomore. He was a leader on the Crusaders’ front line with 8.5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals per game. As the lone sophomore with a group of seniors, Burnett earned second team 4A from Sports in Kansas and honorable mention from KSHSAA.
55 – Jace Smith Jace Smith 6'3" | PG Bishop Seabury | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-2 forward, 2025, Bishop Seabury:
It seems like a long time since Bishop Seabury was a small school powerhouse with D1 level talent, though it’s only been about three years. The Seahawks saw their talent level rise significantly with Smith and teammate Chase Honarvar Chase Honarvar 6'7" | C Bishop Seabury Academy | 2025 State KS on the frontline. A long, lanky wing, Smith is a slasher who can pull up from anywhere. The versatile playmaker averaged 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game. His 40% from deep means defenses can’t sag off him. Smith was voted first team in the Kaw Valley League and received honorable mention recognition from all the outlets.
56 – Chase Honarvar Chase Honarvar 6'7" | C Bishop Seabury Academy | 2025 State KS , 6-foot-7 center, 2025, Bishop Seabury:
Smith’s partner on the Seabury frontline, Honarvar is a big, intimidating presence. He can move for position and shut down opposing posts without fouling. Shot blocking is his forte, and he averaged 6 blocks per game to go with his 10 points and 10 rebounds. Honarvar proved what he could do in an 19-point/14-rebound/8-block effort in a tough loss to Baldwin. He blocked 11 shots against Wellsville. He earned 1A Div I honorable mention from KSHSAA and was voted second team in the Kaw Valley League.
