About Will
Expert Analysis
Todd Fertig | Prep Hoops Scout
Similar to Dyck, Thengvall was an experienced member of teams that knocked on the door but hadn’t quite finished on top. As a senior, Thengvall took over full leadership and did everything the team needed to bring home a championship. His length and strength, combined with his ball schools and athleticism, made him a dynamic threat running the point, getting into the lane, rebounding, shooting…anything and everything Kapaun needed to finish on top.

Small Forward, #5 Overall
You can’t help but love what Thengvall has done for Kapaun the last couple of years. Emerging from his big brother’s shadow as a junior, he led the Crusaders to the brink of a title as a junior. He came back with a vengeance as a senior and made sure the trophy returned to Kapaun. He handled the ball, distributed it scorers, scored at all three levels, defended and rebounded at a high level, a truly versatile star.

Read EvaluationJared Martinson | Prep Hoops Scout
Thengvall showed at the 5A tournament that he’s one of the most “money” players in the state. He’s had a brilliant career at Kapaun as a hard-nosed winner who does everything well in every phase of the game. He handles the ball and creates for his teammates, but when the lights were brightest, he went for 31 and 29 points in the final two games of the championship run.
