We were in attendance for the event and below are some of the standouts from the “Best of the Best” game.
Darrell Morris, Jr. Darrell Morris, Jr. 5'9" | PG West Ranch | 2024 State CA-S , 2024, West Ranch
The lightning quick and dynamic playmaker made his impact felt on both ends of the floor. From shooting passing lanes for steals and easy baskets in transition to getting paint touches in half-court offensive and hitting open shooters, Morris excelled when the pace was being pushed.
Jaron Saulsberry Jaron Saulsberry 6'6" | SF Norcross | 2026 State GA , 2026, Norcross (GA)
Saulsberry was perhaps the best pure athlete in the gym on Saturday and his ability to elevate and finish over rim protectors and shoot over contested hands earned him a spot in the Best of the Best game. The freshman by way of Georgia flashed his dynamic finishing abilities in transition and has a lethal jump shot off the bounce when he’s balanced and stays within his form.
Timmy Anderson, 2026, Blair
This was our first good look at the talented young point guard out of Pasadena and his game didn’t disappoint. Anderson gave off some Darryl Polk, Jr. vibes in the cool, calm and collected demeanor he played with and was able to command the pace even in a showcase setting. The 5-foot-9 freshman is the definition of a table-setter and always knows where his open teammates are.
Chris Arias, 2024, Providence School (FL)
Arias was another guy who stood out in this event because of his freakish athletic abilities. At 6-feet-6 with quick twitch bounce and an aggressive mindset, the junior out of Florida had a handful of impressive drives and finishes at the rim. Where Arias made his biggest impact was on the offensive boards. In the Best of the Best game, Arias had a couple of acrobatic put-backs after crashing the glass.
Tong Mawien Tong Mawien 6'6" | SF St. Paul | 2025 State CA-S , 2025, St. Paul
Mawien was one of the more active guys on both ends of the floor throughout the event. The physical 6-foot-6 lefty forward showed the ball skills to face-up and drive by his defenders and used his strong frame to absorb and finish through contact. Mawien knocked down a couple of face-up jumpers and crashed the offensive and defensive boards.
