Barron Jr. showcased great concentration while shooting contested jumpers, nothing threw his form or balance off, each shot looked the same. This sharpshooter’s ability to knock it down with a hand in his face set him apart from other jumpshooters and is one of his most translatable traits. Jerrell ran the floor with a purpose, allowing him to put his knack for stretching the court on full display while sprinting to the corner in transition for open three-point opportunities. He even did an amazing job of relocating himself beyond the arc after passing or receiving a screen. The 6-foot-4 guard also showed good shooting mechanics, he excelled when his feet were set, and he caught the ball while going directly into his shooting motion fluidly.

Throughout the weekend this point guard showed off his explosiveness combined with his dynamic three level scoring prowess. Begg drilled jumpers from deep off the catch, he scored in the mid-range from a variety of dribble pull-ups, and finished at the basket through traffic with a crafty layup for every defender thinking they could block his shot. Justin Begg Justin Begg 5’9″ | PG Episcopal School of Houston | 2024 State TX ‘s ability to get anywhere off the dribble allowed him to drive and kick as he pleased, Justin whipped passes around defenders and made sure to hit his teammates in their shooting pocket. This kid continuously keeps his stock steadily on the rise, Justin Begg Justin Begg 5’9″ | PG Episcopal School of Houston | 2024 State TX may be the best point guard in the Greater Houston Area right now and he’s just scratching the surface of his capabilities.

Damarion Dennis had a breakout weekend playing with Drive Nation as he put up averages of 16.3 points, 5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game along with a weekend high of 28 points against of Houston Hoops. Dennis really emerged and played better and better game after game from his rebounding to his shooting to his assist to turnover ratio to his defensive competitiveness. Damarion was the biggest standout from Texas of the weekend and he looks more than ready to continue his success throughout the summer.

Johnson stood out as one of the most consistent prospects of the weekend while putting up double figures in each game due to his shot making and activity on the glass. Trap pulled out his flame thrower from beyond the arc and scorched the nets for 12 three-pointers in 4 games. He let it fly with a high arcing release and a impeccable rotation. Trap can put up points from just about anywhere on the floor but at Session 1 he made his presence felt in a strong way from deep as he got the bulk of his buckets from spot-up and catch-and-shoot three-point opportunities.
The consensus top-ranked prospect in the nation, Tre Johnson Tre Johnson 6’5″ | SG Link Academy | 2024 #4 Nation MO , had everything going his way as usual while making some standout highlight plays. Johnson’s 16 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game propelled Houston Hoops to a 2-2 record through Session 1. This star shooting guard proved to be a pure and natural bucket getter whether he made the shot or missed it, Tre was always able to take a good look at the basket by getting to his spots for a pull-up jumper. Whenever Johnson attacked the lane with a full head of steam there was no stopping him, he springs off the ground with explosiveness and utilizes his hang-time to control his body in the air while finishing with finesse or throwing it down with power.
