Team CP3 saved their best for last on the final day of Session I of the EYBL season in Atlanta, posting a team-high 86 points in a 30-point victory over Paul George Elite while flexing their overall depth as a squad. Powell, Harris and Boswell all proved they could share the backcourt equally as they finished with a combined 41 assists and just 11 turnovers as a unit. Once Harris finds his rhythm behind the arc, this team has the potential to be scary when Peach Jam arrives. Powell and Harris put up 13 assists together in their final contest of the day as nine different players scored for them in the unbeaten weekend.
UNC commit Drake Powell Drake Powell 6'6" | CG Northwood | 2024 State #8 Nation NC set the tone all weekend long for them as he finished with 20.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.0 bpg in their first four games. In his best scoring performance, he finished with 26 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 21-of-26 shooting from the free-throw line. He showed his poise as an attacker off the bounce but also showed off his energy as a defender and playmaker in the open court. Wake Forest commit Jayden Harris Jayden Harris 6'6" | SG Salisbury | 2024 State #220 Nation NC proved he belonged, finishing with 13.3 ppg, 4.0 apg and 4.0 rpg on 48.6 percent shooting from the field. While his 3-point shot wasn’t falling, he still showed off his ability to get to the rim and make things happen and showed off his versatility as a defender as well. He finished with 18 points, eight assists and three rebounds in their final game of Session I as arguably his best overall outing in Session I.
Bishop Boswell Bishop Boswell 6'4" | PG Myers Park | 2024 State #68 Nation NC and Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5" | SG Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC certainly put a lot of folks on notice of their abilities after this weekend. Boswell finished with 13.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.8 apg and 1.3 spg, showing off his ability to operate at either guard spot, depending on their rotation. He fit in well while showing he could knock it down from deep, going 6-of-12 on the weekend and 4-of-6 in their final two games of Session I. Washington was another prospect that flourished on the wing and as a defender for them. He finished with 9.3 ppg and 3.0 rpg off the bench while shooting 5-of-8 from deep. He’s an underrated shooter that should see his stock rise a ton after this weekend with his play. He was an efficient 15-of-26 (57.7 percent) on the weekend.
In the frontcourt, Maurio Hanson Maurio Hanson 6'7" | PF JL Chambers | 2024 State NC and Clash Peters Clash Peters 6'8" | PF Word of God | 2024 State NC were two names that thrived in the paint. Hanson got things started as the starter but played about evenly with Peters in the mix. He finished with 7.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg on 48.1 percent shooting from the floor while Peters produced 4.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg and 1.0 apg on 72.7 percent shooting from the floor. Hanson is just starting to scratch the surface around the rim as a finisher and paint protector. Peters makes his debut with Team CP3 looking to make a splash on the paint protection front and finishing front. He’s a patient finisher with size down low that should bolster their frontcourt this season.
The addition of Isaiah Evans Isaiah Evans 6'6" | SG North Mecklenburg | 2024 State #17 Nation NC will certainly boost this team’s profile in Session II. Stay tuned for film/highlights from those games coming next week!
