The Prep Hoops Minnesota Prospect Camp was filled with talent on Sunday. There were some players that just got done with impressive high school seasons and there were others who I hadn’t seen play in several months. These are the seven prospects who impressed me the most and emerged as Minnesota Prospect Camp GameChangers.
This was the first time I had ever seen Zach play and I was beyond impressed. The explosiveness he plays with is next level and was playing above the rim whenever he got the chance. He has the ability to rise up and above defenders to finish over them and did not let traffic get in the way of converting layup and dunk attempts in the paint. The unsigned senior was also very comfortable shooting from the outside and was great at knocking down deep shots off the dribble. Jacobson missed a large portion of his high school career due to injury but averaged a team-high 17 points per game this season for Simley.
Kyle is such a unique prospect and continues to impress me with every trait he continues to develop. He stands at 6’8” and can back down defenders with his strength. When he is in the post, he can look over the defense and scan for an open teammate to pass to. He also has an assortment of post moves he can utilize and is extremely unpredictable when he has his back to the basket. He also showed off a little bit of what he can do handling the ball and even knocked down some shots off the dribble in isolation situations. I really like Jorgensen’s game and he has incredible upside at the next level as a prospect.
Jalen is such a smooth operator when he has the ball in his hands and was taking over in the two games I saw him in. The tough shot making ability that he has is elite and he is so hard to guard because he can pull up off the dribble from anywhere on the floor. He has such a quick shot and can set up his defender to get seperation. The lefty was driving to the basket as well, converting some acrobatic finishes. The 6-foot guard had a fantastic junior season and scored a team-high 18.8 points per game, leading the Sabers to a 16-11 record. Langsy will suit up for Minnesota Fury this AAU season.
Khalif’s shot creating (and making) abilities were on full display on Sunday. It looks so effortless when he is getting to his spots on the floor and all of his moves look calculated, never wasting extra dribbles. He looks much quicker and explosive than even a couple months ago and used that to his advantage when gaining separation from his defenders. He also had a huge block in the game I saw and was a standout rebounder as well. Bettis led Burnsville to its best record since he has been there and just fell short to Jefferson in the section quarterfinals. He averaged nearly 20 points per game in his senior season.
Owen is another very intriguing prospect in this stacked 2024 class and did a little bit of everything when he was on the floor on Sunday. He impressed me most with the way he can dominate the paint with his rebounding and interior defense. He is 6’7” with long arms and that really allowed him to block and alter shots almost every time an opponent attacked the basket. He can move well for his size and showed what he can do above the rim in transition. He also connected with a catch-and-shoot three-pointer in the game I saw. Waldoch was the lead scoring option this season as a junior at Forest Lake.

I was able to see Brandon play for Farmington in their first game of this high school season and the improvement in his game in the past couple of months was evident to me. He looks much more explosive and was tough to stop when he got going in transition. He rose up for a couple eye-opening dunks when he got the opportunity and absorbed contact to finish layups. His shot mechanics also look very good and was comfortable getting shots off quickly in the catch-and-shoot. He also found success crashing the offensive boards to get some second chance chances for himself. He will be running with Minnesota Fury once again this AAU season.
Highlights
Martez was putting on a show at the Minnesota Prospect Camp, dunking everything whenever he got the opportunity. The unsigned senior is an athletic freak and was one of the most impressive jumpers I saw all day. If one of his teammates threw a lob anywhere in the vicinity of him, he was going to finish it off. The combination of Wise’s size and athleticism alone leaves him with high upside and loads of potential as a prospect. Martez was a key contributor for Cooper this year and helped them to a 18-6 regular season record. He averaged 14.4 points per game for a high scoring Hawks offense.
