Sandfort and Biliew both have great arguments for this honor, but we’ll give the slight nod to the future Hawkeye, who bested Biliew in every statistical category. Sandfort is a pure shooter who can fill it up in a hurry, defend multiple positions, and is a talented passer.

Stats: 22.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.4 steals, 2.1 blocks, 52.1 FG%, 39.7 3P%, 71.4 FT%

Biliew is the most talented player in the state, a McDonald’s All-American and future Iowa State Cyclone wing who will make an immediate impact as a defender in Ames. He’s an elite athlete with great size and length, and he really impressed as an all-around scorer as a senior.

Reed isn’t the potent scorer that the rest of the first teamers are, but his complete command of the Cougars offensive attack led Kennedy to an undefeated regular season and the #1 seed at the state tournament. He’s a skilled ball handler and creative passer who thrives in the pick-and-roll.

Stats: 18.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 50.5 FG%, 40.4 3P%, 84.4 FT%

An efficient, high IQ guard who led Norwalk to the state tournament, Born is equally adept as a three-level scorer or facilitator, controlling the game on both ends of the floor. He does a great job changing speeds and using his size and length to impact the game defensively.

Stats: 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 47.3 FG%, 32.2 3P%, 78.9 FT%

A quick guard with great handles, Winkel can get to the bucket seemingly at will and he’s a great finisher around the bucket. He has a smooth mid-range game, getting the ball into his shooting pocket quickly, and he sees the floor extremely well.

Second Team

Stats: 15.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, 47.2 FG%, 43.9 3P%, 83.3 FT%

A tough lefty guard who made a ton of huge shots throughout the year for the Cougars, Dolphin is a tenacious defender, a skilled passer, and a talented three-level scorer. He’ll take his talents down the road to Kirkwood to play his college ball.

Stats: 16.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.5 steals, 57.9 FG%, 47.9 3P%, 83.1 FT%

Another tough left-handed guard, Kelderman used his physicality and quickness to get defenders on his hip, get to the bucket, and finish at a high level routinely during his last two high school seasons. He’s a skilled shooter off the dribble and the catch, and his efficiency was rivaled by few scorers in the state.

Were it not for a mid-season injury that caused him to miss eight games, Kingery probably would’ve landed on the first team. A talented 6-5/6-6 wing who can score from all three levels, defend multiple positions, and create shots for himself and his teammates, he’s headed to play his college ball at Truman State.

The future Augustana (SD) wing stepped into the primary scoring role this year for the Tigers and flourished, routinely putting up huge numbers as a scorer and rebounder. At 6-8, he has a pure stroke, unlimited range, and is a high IQ scorer who moves well without the ball in his hands.

The top-ranked player in Iowa’s 2024 class averaged a double-double for the Bulldogs this season, showing his ability to score from all three levels, create plays for his teammates, and defend multiple positions.
