Stinson came to Ohio from Iowa where was a back-to-back state champion and the Gatorade player of the year in 2024. During his senior season at Western Reserve Academy he had two triple doubles and was named to the Ohio Prep Conference First Team. I’ve received numerous texts from mid to high major programs interested in Stinson so I’ll be curious to see which program secures his commitment.

Stinson is a jack of all trades utility guard who flat out knows how to play the game. He was in the right spots to gather rebounds. His ability to move without the ball allowed him to score as a slasher. Stinson showed he could push the pace and take advantage of teams who were short handed in transition. He has good touch around the basket and sought out contact on the attack. Stinson also was in the right spots on the defensive end to pressure the ball and gather steals. Stinson finished with 16 points.

We just shouted out Stinson as I watched him on Sunday with Western Reserve Academy. Our evaluation hasn’t changed from that point. You can click here to read that article. Expect Stinson to be a spring commit to a Division I program, he has all the tools you’d be looking for in a wing guard.

Stinson Jr was absolutely dominant in Western Reserve Academy’s win over AOA Prep. I was really impressed with his ability to get to the rim off the dribble and finish off two feet. With a strong base and his solid athleticism, Stinson is able to power through rim protectors and is tough to stop without helpside defense coming over to contest his shot. I also liked his efficiency from the mid-range area, getting some in rhythm shot attempts off DHO and PNR actions. Near the end of the game Stinson Jr knocked down a wing 3-pointer and had a putback layup after a free throw miss. A complete performance by Stinson Jr, who is a clear Division I target and one of the top unsigned prospects in Ohio’s 2025 class.

One of the top players in Iowa’s 2025 class before making the move to Ohio for his senior season, I was impressed with what I saw from Stinson on Monday. A utility wing guard who checks a lot of boxes, Stinson Jr appears to have a college ready frame, displayed active hands on the ball and moved without the basketball. I wasn’t blown away by anything he did scoring the basketball but the overall feel and variety of ways he impacted the game stood out. Hoping to see him in an organized 5 on 5 setting Vs another team soon to pinpoint his talent level.
