Olympic High sits atop the 4A West currently unbeaten at 15-0 following their most recent victory on Tuesday over Berry High, 61-51. 2024 6-foot-5 wing [player_tooltip player_id='1730959' first='Kameron' last='Taylor'] continues to excel for the Trojans as well. He's coming off a career-high 29 points against Holy Innocents Episcopal. He continues to climb up the PH radar during the high school season, producing 17.9 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.7 spg and 1.0 bpg while shooting 65 percent from the floor. He's an athletic, downhill presence that can also fly around for rebounds and blocks.

6-foot sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1730932' first='Jaydon' last='Terrell'] is another name to keep an eye on with the Trojans. He's shown he can stroke it from deep and distribute at a high level so far in 2022-23 with averages of 14.3 ppg, 6.6 apg, 2.9 rpg, 1.3 spg while shooting 41 percent from 3-point land. He's made 24 3-pointers so far. An unsigned senior name to keep an eye on with them is [player_tooltip player_id='1730958' first='Devin' last='Ragin']. Ragin is a 6-foot-7 athletic, thin forward that's quite the presence in the paint so far in 2022-23. He's putting up 10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 4.1 bpg at the anchor spot for Olympic High. He's a late-blooming name for college coaches for get eyes on. They've got South Mecklenburg on Friday.

North Mecklenburg is right behind the Trojans at 13-1 with their only defeat coming against Westminster Academy out of Florida. They're another team to beat with top prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1154560' first='Isaiah' last='Evans'] leading the way for them. He's a nice blend of wing/forward that allows them to create mismatches on the floor. He continues to lead the way for their squad with 2024s [player_tooltip player_id='1076344' first='Christian' last='Foy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1076335' first='Trey' last='Maxwell'] in tow. [player_tooltip player_id='1680977' first='Ashton' last='Pierce'] is another name to get to know with them with a recent offer from UNC-Wilmington. He's a sharpshooting lead guard with a ton of playmaking ability in the 2026 class. They've got a big matchup coming up on Friday against JL Chambers High.

2024 Hopewell High guard [player_tooltip player_id='1281454' first='Quay' last='Watson'] recently eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau with 36 points, though it came in a one-point defeat against JL Chambers High. He's an efficient scorer shooting 52 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range while posting 24.2 ppg, 4.7 apg, 3.5 rpg and 2.3 spg at the lead guard role for the Titans.
JL Chambers High and Myers Park High are two teams at 10-3 in the 4A West that could go deep in the NCHSAA State Playoffs. They've already faced each other once with JL Chambers taking that early matchup but conference play doesn't get any easier for either squad. Chambers is led by the 1-2 combination of [player_tooltip player_id='1277983' first='Nick' last='Dorn'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1076352' first='Maurio' last='Hanson'] with [player_tooltip player_id='1338309' first='Jahmir' last='Brown'] bringing the heat defensively. Mohammad has shown off his ability to fill up the stat sheet, posting 14.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.4 apg and 2.1 spg while Boswell is starting to fit in nicely as well. He's averaging 10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 5.7 apg and 1.6 spg. Lynch is averaging 6.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.4 spg. White is due to breakout soon with 11.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg and 1.8 bpg in the frontcourt.
