They get their first crack at one of the big 4 as they go on the road to take on the defending 5A state champion Liberty Parltriots. The Aggies came out strong stunning the Patriots, while jumping out to a 1st quarter lead. Liberty seemed to seize control during a late first quarter run that saw them hit back to back threes. The Patriots would stretch the lead to 8 at the half. The Aggies clawed back in the second half behind the shooting of junior guard

Most Impactful Players
Controls the game the way a pure PG should. Gets teammates involved when they need touches, makes his shot when he’s open. Keeps the game simple, and looks like he’s playing at a completely different speed than everyone else.
Best Offensive Player
One of the top shooters in the state got hot, displaying his signature skill. Kambala is a catch and shoot sniper, but on this night he also put to work his pull up game. The Utah Tech Signee hit a couple walk up threes that changed the complexion of the game. He finished with 17 points to pace the Patriots.
Biggest Sleeper
Yap was a true revelation. The #82 ranked player in our class of 2024 certainly made a case to rise his stock. #He shot lights out, knocking down 5 threes. In addition to the shooting he showed a good burst, defeating defenders off the bounce, while showing the ability to get paint touches. He’s started to heat up as the season has gone on, and his shooting and pedigree make him a stockriser to keep a close eye on.
Best New Prospect
Steward showed what he could do during the JV game, flashing his athleticism with a ridiculous block, dunk sequence that shut the gym down. He didn’t have any plays like that during the varsity game, but you can easily see the physical traits. Steward is a naturally bouncy, athlete that played with good energy. He needs to refine his offensive game, and build his frame, but showed some impressive physical abilty during the games.
Best Defender
Reid was a good interior precense on the night. He battled with the Aggies bigs, and managed to control the paint, protecting the rim in the process. He had several big blocks in the game, making him one of the better defenders on the floor.
Most Impressive Offensive Skill
The junior sharpshooter already came in shooting 40% from behind the arc, he bettered that on this night. Romero seemed to have a stretch where he was going shot for shot with Kambala. His ability to hit threes early helped keep the Aggies attached as he made three huge second half three pointers for the team.
Best Freshman
Bright’s per 32 minutes points must be astronomincal as the big man spent most of the night on the bench saddled with foul trouble. When he was in the game he did manage to be productive, scoring 6 points. He’s a vastly improving back to the basket low post threat that flashed his potential in short stints.
