Maker makes a lot of contributions that end up in the box score but the one thing that doesn't, and is perhaps equally as important, is how many shots the other team takes at in-between range rather than getting into the paint simply because of his presence. Teams begin the game prepared to be aggressive against the big man but if he avoids foul trouble you can quickly see that desire fade away as shot after shot is sent back.
