Celiscar was the man of the weekend for the eventual champions. The 6-6 guard took home MVP honors after an incredible weekend. Offensively, Celiscar was a force from everywhere on the floor. He plays with intensity and gets downhill with aggression, leading to some easy finishes around the basket both in transition and in the half court. He is really efficient from the midrange and made some wild shots around the rim in the championship game. Defensively, Celiscar matches up well with guards and bigs alike, as his length and athleticism give him the necessary tools to both stay in front of quick guards and muscle up to strong bigs. Celiscar feels like the complete prospect. While the jumper and ball handling are still in progress, Celiscar is just a junior, and one of the absolute best in the state. He is a D1 lock and will contribute immediately to whatever team has the pleasure of landing him.
It was so nice to see the progress that Jamie Phillips Jamie Phillips 6’5″ | CG Winter Haven | 2024 State FL has made since watching him last. Phillips is a unique guard, with a build more attune to a lineman than a point guard. However, his size was an asset, not a hindrance. Phillips was able to generate pure inside-out offense: destroying guards on the block with his size while also using his crafty handle and dangerous shooting stroke to hit jumpers outside the paint. His ball handling has improved, and his decision making, while at times errant, has taken major strides. Phillips was far more often making the right decisions on offense than the wrong ones, leading to some great scoring performances throughout the tournament. Defensively, his size proved to once again be of assistance, as he created nightmare matchups in the pick-and-roll and left big men on opposing teams confused. Phillips is the oft forgotten piece on this Winter Haven team, but his pure skill and showings at this tournament have more than warranted him looks from college coaches.

Owens was the one sophomore on a mostly-senior Olympia team. But while he may be younger than his counterparts, he was no less productive. Owens can flat out shoot the ball and came up big in moments when Olympia needed a bucket. Owens was able to run the baseline and execute the Olympia offense to get open buckets or go out and create a shot for himself when needed. He started the week as a bench boost, but quickly found starters minutes after some incredible offensive performances. He showed glimpses of high-quality guard work on a team where the ball is mostly in the hands of Jizzle James, so while we don’t exactly know how Owens plays now, we can rest assured that he will be a leader of this Olympia team for years to come. He’s definitely a guy to keep an eye on.
