Rickey Mitchell Rickey Mitchell 6'3" | CG Smoky Hill | 2023 State CO – Smoky Hill
29.5 points through 3 games
The guard has put on a spectacle to start the season, seemingly never missing a jumper. The 6’3 combo guard is nearly impossible to stop off the dribble, proving to have the whole three level scoring package. Mitchell has shown dominance getting up quality shots out of the pick and roll, simply an automatic shooter should defenders go under the screens. While his shooting percentages are not available, of the matches I have watched, he is shooting no less than 45% on triples. While the guard is already a dynamo beyond the arc, Mitchell has continued to impress with his budding athleticisim. While he was always a servicable athlete, Mitchell has appeared to take another step with his vertical leap, throwing down transition windmills quite often.
Kyle Blauch – Boulder
28 points through 1 game
Although an especially low sample size, there is no doubt Blauch will be a potent scorer and double double threat throughout the season. The 6’5 forward had a major 28 and 10 perforamance in a win over Greeley West. While there is no doubt that Blauch will be a lethal threat on the glass this season, he will need to stretch out the jump shot at the next level.
Jordan Leslie Jordan Leslie 6'0" | PG Mullen | 2024 State CO – Mullen
27.7 points through 3 games
Simply put, Leslie understands his role. The point guard has been on an all around tear on both ends, doing much more than put the ball in the basket. Outside of his fairly efficient scoring performance, Leslie has contributed 6 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.3 steals per game. Leslie looks ready to handle the bulk of Mullen’s usage, proving capable drawing in the defense to leverage drive and kick passes.
Andrew Crawford – Thunderridge
26.5 points through 2 games
Crawford has been the top non-prep player in the 2024 class for quite some time and that shows no sign of changing. The lefty guard brings such a unique combination of playmaking vision and relative quickness. At 6’6, Crawford see’s above the defense with ease and enjoys hitting weak side players with skip passes. Crawford’s pace of play is a his biggest strength outside of the clear skill at his size, always putting pressure on the rim and sucking the defense into the paint. Another interesting aspect of Crawford’s dominance is that he only has shot 1-7 from deep, the opposition will really be in trouble once those attempts start falling.
Luke Wagstaff Luke Wagstaff 6'8" Fort Collins | 2023 CO – Fort Collins
26 points through 3 games
Wagstaff has come off to a monster start to the season, putting up two 26 point double doubles. The Carroll College commit has continued to dominate the glass on both ends, posting a 12 rebound effort versus Roosevelt and 16 rebounds versus Vista Ridge. Wagstaff is an essential putback scorer as is, however his volume as a kickout passer will
