Isaac Asuma Isaac Asuma 6'3" | PG Cherry | 2024 State #102 Nation MN of Cherry (jr). Returning from a broken thumb there is still some rust as Isaac gets used to full time again. Isaac scored a team high 18 points and did a great job balancing the floor for all the Tiger weapons to have success. The biggest thing Asuma did was attack the basket whenever defenders reached, stepped too high, or gave him any time of angle. At 6’3, strong, smart and skilled this national guard prospect had a great first weekend back from injury.
Patrick Bath Patrick Bath 6'9" | C Totino Grace | 2023 State MN of Totino-Grace (sr). Bath did a great job defensively on Winter after the start. He forced the Badger commit into tough misses, he blocked five shots total, and often cleared the glass with his nine boards. He scored a team high 18 points that included a three and late foul shots. Played very hard and was a key reason the Eagles had a chance late to win.
Michael Cooper Michael Cooper 6'6" | PF Robbinsdale Cooper | 2023 State MN of Robbinsdale Armstrong (sr). Cooper is a 6’5 long forward that is really coming into his own. The length he has allows him to finish consistently at the cup and his activity beat Andover size to just about every board and every one dribble attack to the rim. He scored 26 points with 11 rebounds and has the kind of agility that would be high quality for a college program.
Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN of Bloomington Jefferson (jr). Daniel scored 36 points against Hopkins making 12 of 21 attempts from the field and 10 of 13 foul shots. Freitag looks like Big Ten wide receiver right now with his strength, explosion, and aggressiveness. The Jags used that physical ability in the paint with back to the basket touches, they had him pushing on the break, and they had him attacking off ball screens.
Isaiah Hagen Isaiah Hagen 6'3" | PG Orono | 2023 State MN of Orono (sr). The combo guard supreme was checked by smaller guards and scored over them. The combo guard supreme was checked by some bigger players and he went around them. Between the skill, touch, and ability to finish on the move going to the cup he scored 30 points in a win over Minnehaha Academy. One of the best unsigned guards in the state.
Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6'7" | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN of Totino-Grace. Johnson’s ability to create off the bounce as a forward helped him score 12 points and he has a nice mid-lane touch. Most of his points came on the six foul shots he made but the dribble creation was something that stood out. Even more important that Johnson’s defense on Jack Robison Jack Robison 6'7" | SF Lakeville North | 2024 State #158 Nation MN and at times on Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN was excellent. A much better defender than I was aware of and the several college coaches in attendance likely took note.
Jackson McAndrew Jackson McAndrew 6'10" | PF Wayzata | 2024 State #24 Nation MN of Wayzata (jr). McAndrew has grow to 6’9 and I think he is going to keep growing. At that size and with that pure of a shooting touch, he might have the best chance of anybody in this class at the pro level. The shot is that pure and he has range. Today he hit five threes and all five of his foul shots. He did struggle later in the game with his shot and on the glass he grabbed five boards, but he is just starting to blossom. With more growth, more strength, the sky is the limit. And that sky could be professional with that touch.
Jonathan Mekonnen Jonathan Mekonnen 6'8" | PF Eastview | 2024 State #201 Nation MN of Eastivew (jr). Mekonnen had a fantastic showing leading Eastview over Wayzata. He scored his 21 points mixing four explosive buckets on the move with three threes plus he made four of his five foul shots. Mekonnen was the best rebounder on the floor grabbing eight and he did a great job moving his feet forcing Jackson McAndew into misses of nine of his last 11 shot attempts.
Jayden Moore Jayden Moore 6'0" | PG Hopkins | 2026 State MN of Hopkins (fr). When it comes to quickness with the basketball Jayden is elite. His push, his burst off the first move, his corner turn off the ball screen, all of it. One of the toughest players to keep in front in the state. Moore shot 18 foul shots because the defenders simply could not keep his speed in front of them. He also scored on 9 of 20 shots giving him 31 points with 10 rebounds and four assists.
Seth Newbern Seth Newbern 6'2" | PG Robbinsdale Armstrong | 2024 State MN of Robbinsdale Armstrong (jr). First off all, Nebern is a bit taller and a lot stronger and it’s really helped what he does on defense as well as when he attacks the rim. Newbern put the game away for his team with a late And1 (wasn’t called), some foul shots, and a steal/assist combo. He’s looking every but like a top 20 prospect in his class.
Brady Wooley Brady Wooley 6'9" | C Orono | 2025 State #187 Nation MN of Orono (soph). The thing that really catches me is how well Wooley moves at 6’9. He has a nice touch, he has length, the skills are there, but his coordination on the move really catches you as different. Dealt with some foul issues against Minnehaha Academy but contributed a double figure scoring game.
