Noah dominated the paint in a win on Friday night. He was the strongest player on the floor by far, being able to play physically inside. He was a beast rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor, finding teammates with outlet passes and giving his team second chance opportunities. He looked good when going to work in the post and was comfortable knocking down a mid-range jumper. Zuniga has a nice combination of size, strength, and skill, which he knows how to use to his advantage.

Teelan was doing a little bit of everything on Friday, helping his team to an early lead that they never gave up. He started the game off hot from the perimeter, knocking down triples off the catch or off the dribble. He was getting inside as well, where he could score himself or show off his vision with a dime to a teammate for an easy score. He has great touch around the basket, converting on several layups and floaters. Kjerstad was making winning plays all game.

Boche was the smallest player on the floor in the game I watched, but impacted the game in so many ways. He is always running at 100% when he is on the floor, as I saw him flying around and making plays on the defensive end. He was getting in passing lanes and poking the ball free from opponents, swarming on double teams. He looked comfortable shooting from deep, but did the majority of his scoring around the rim, where he did not shy away from contact. Knight was also a trustworthy ball handler and was getting his teammates involved.

Amir’s game is super smooth and he was finding success scoring in a variety of ways on Friday. Early in the game, he was getting downhill for takes to the basket, converting on layups through contact and drawing fouls. As the game progressed, he was creating looks for himself using the dribble, connecting with some tough shots on the perimeter. The sophomore guard almost led his team to a comeback win, but just fell short in the closing minutes.

Nick provided some consistent scoring in a Friday night win with Minnesota Crossfire. He shot the lights out from beyond the arc, connecting with seven triples. He hit five of those in the first half, with most of them coming in catch-and-shoot scenarios. He does a great job moving without the ball, as the defense would lose track of him and he would end up with a wide open look. Keenan’s range extends well beyond the three-point line and was the best shooter I saw on opening night.

AK Ochan
AK Ochan
AK is still a pretty raw prospect, but showed some flashes of serious potential. He stands at 6-foot and is one of the most physically gifted players I have seen all spring. He has a lightning quick first step and was blowing by defenders with ease. He can explode when attacking the rim for layups through traffic and even threw down a strong one-handed slam in the open floor. Ochan is going to be a problem if he continues to develop his handle and perimeter game.
