As we get into the flow of the new season we’ve found more than a few new faces worth mentioning in the 2025 class. Here are just a few of the players to get to know entering the top 50 for the first time in our 2025 rankings.
Pepper is already a physically mature player out there and has a game that shadows a lot of what Levi Pepper Levi Pepper 6’6″ | SF Selah | 2023 State WA brings to the Selah Vikings. Jackson looks pretty polished, especially for a sophomore, and plays a well-rounded game. He’s strong, can handle the rock and do some playmaking, finishes strong at the rim and can stroke the three ball with high efficiency which has led to some big scoring outbursts.
Holcomb is a prospect with a high ceiling, having the length, instincts, and shooting touch to be a real problem on both ends of the floor. He could still stand to add some meat on his bones, but the sophomore wing already puts in the effort to mix it up on the glass and can guard multiple positions on defense. He’s been a key guy spreading the floor and rebounding this season and has been a huge part of Union’s success early on.
This is a kid who has been thrust into the starting point guard role and has rarely looked overwhelmed by the responsibility. He’s a sneaky and crafty player, finding lanes through the defense and creating turnovers on the other end. He really shows a ton of promise at the point, displaying a lot of innate characteristics that make him a natural leader on the hardwood. He draws fouls, has great court awareness, and does an excellent job of getting to zero and making things happen.
Christy is a guy I was ready to wait on, as is the case with a lot of young bigs, but he has been thrust into playing solid minutes as the second big man for Gonzaga Prep and has not disappointed. He’s not scoring a ton or really filling up the stat sheet yet, but Christy holds down the middle on defense, quietly takes care of all his responsibilities, and does it well. The thing I like most about what he’s shown in the early season is his ability to outlet the ball quickly and with a purpose. He’s a strong rebounder and seemingly always knows where his outlets will be and looks up court to catch defenses in transition and steal easy buckets.
I haven’t seen much of Daniels yet in 2022-23 but he is still an impressive prospect in the 2025 class. He’s got the size/power combo to be utterly destructive at the rim coming in from the wings. He’s a super athletic kid who thrives in the open court right now and in finding lanes to the hoop, but he does have a promising jumper that’s developing. Daniels had a strong showing in the summer and when he does get on the court this year, there will be a ton of activity at the rim at North Central.
Dunham was a guy I had seen a good amount of in the summer. He showed great defensive instincts and work ethic but didn’t get a lot of opportunities on the offensive end. Well, it’s been a different story at Mead as he’s opened up a can to start the season and has shown he can be the focal point of an offense with his ability to drain the outside shot and bury shots with little room at the rim. He’s been one of many players from this class showing great poise and potential early in the year.
Smith is another kid I had seen a fair amount of from spring to summer and was just on the cusp of putting it all together to be one of the better prospects from his class. His intuition was evident on both ends of the floor and his potential as a two-way, fast-paced point guard was evident. He’s taken that work he put in the summer and made even bigger strides for Bellevue this season. Smith has a great motor and makes plays on both sides of the floor, playing with a high IQ and high energy that extends his impact beyond the scorebook.
