Chavez is a Junior who is a versatile player for John Mall that does it all. He is leading the Panthers in every stat line and is their main rebounding force. He averages 22.3 rebounds per games with the next closes person on his team averaging 10 less per game. Chavez is only 6’0 so this shows his explosiveness using his quickness to get rebounds. He is a good defender and gets a lot of his boards on the defensive side averaging 15.7 defensive rebounds per game. Chavez will continue to lead the Panthers on both ends of the floor and will try to get them back above .500.
Cooper Tixier– Wiley
Tixier is a 6’6 senior who is averaging 15.3 rebounds per game and can keep the offense alive, averaging 7.7 rebounds on both ends. Tixier is the defensive anchor for the Panthers and locks down the paint. Tixier is averaging 1.8 steals to pair with 1.3 blocks as well. He is also the teams top scorer and he turns his offensive rebounds into points. Tixier and the Panthers will look to continue their win streak against the Granada Bobcats.
Eddie Harmon – Pikes Peak Christian
Harmon is a player that uses his speed on the defensive side to create turnovers and get into open space to get rebounds. Harmon is only a sophomore and is his teams second leading scorer and is leading his team in rebounds averaging 14 rebounds. The Eagles are a young team and Eddie will be the focal point moving forward on the defensive side of the ball. On offense the eagle rely on a 3 man attack and Eddie is key to this.
Gideon Gilmore– Cedaredge
The Bruins are a team that like to push the ball and use quickness and Gilmore is the key to this. Gilmore gets himself in the right position and immediately pushes the ball on the break. He is able to get boards on the offensive side and turn it into points. Gilmore is averaging 13.9 rebounds per game and is averaging 9.1 on the defensive side. He is able to make difficult shots in traffic and on defense alters shots in the paint as well. Gilmore will continue to fuel the Bruins defense and make it translate to easy offense on the opposite side.
Shane O’Donoghue– Beth Eden Baptist
The Knights are led by O’Donoghue and he will need to continue to improve on the offensive side to help his team get back on track. O’Donoghue on the defensive side is getting it done, being the defensive anchor for the Knights. He is averaging 13.6 rebounds per games, also clogging the paint leading the Knights with 1.4 blocks as well as 3.8 steals a game. He is almost averaging 6 offensive rebounds and needs to be able to turn these rebounds into more points for the Knights. Will look for O’Donoghue to improve his 3 point shooting, this will go a long way in helping his team turn their season around.
