Wisconsin Lutheran: As good as advertised
Heading into this season, we knew that Wisconsin Lutheran was poised to be one of the better teams in the state. After one week of action, I can confirm that Lutheran is one hundred percent legit. Facing a talented out of state opponent, WL put up 90 points and moved to 1-0. Kon II Knueppel Kon II Knueppel 6'6" | SG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2024 State #15 Nation WI will get most of the attention (rightfully so), but there are many other great prospects on this team. Jamiir Allen Jamiir Allen 6'0" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI has showed great improvements recently, Landon Key Landon Key 6'4" | SF Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI is a big-time performer, and Prentice Young Prentice Young 6'4" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State #273 Nation WI is back and better than ever. It was just one game, but Lutheran’s win over Moline (IL) proved a lot. This team is deep and extremely talented. They will no-doubt be a team to keep an eye on come March.
Stevie Clark Stevie Clark 6'6" | SF Oshkosh North | 2024 State #322 Nation WI , Xzavion Mitchell Xzavion Mitchell 6'6" | SF Oshkosh North | 2025 State #119 Nation WI form one of the best duos in the state
No doubt one of the better teams in the state, Oshkosh North got their season off to a phenomenal start. Winning two games against two solid squads, the Spartans have put the rest of Wisconsin on notice. A major reason why O-North is poised to find so much success this year is due to the tandem of Clark and Mitchell. Not only are these two prospects extremely talented, but they also complement each other very well. Clark is a three-level scorer who is very crafty and skilled. Mitchell is strong and very athletic. He uses his size well to finish around the hoop.
Marcus Hall Marcus Hall 6'5" | SF D.C. Everest | 2023 State WI ‘s stock continues to rise
After having an extremely strong summer AAU season, Hall is a prospect who I was really looking forward to watching. The shooting guard has now grown to be about 6-foot-8. Hall puts this size to use well. He scores inside and is able to knock down outside shots. Because of his rare combination of size and skill, Hall is a huge mismatch problem. Getting his senior season off to a tremendous start, Hall was able to put up 34 points for DC Everest in a win over Kingdom Prep.
Peyton McKenna Peyton McKenna 6'2" | PG Germantown | 2024 State WI starts hot
In a huge blowout victory for Germantown over Kenosha Indian Trail, McKenna was extremely impressive. The guard was able to pour in 25 points on eight made field goals, seven of which were threes. McKenna is an extremely dangerous shooter from beyond the arc. If opposing defenders give him an inch of space, the guard is going to get up a three and it is probably going to go in. Look for McKenna to continue to impress.
Duo of Fritsch, Isaj should not be slept on
In a ten-point win over a solid Racine Horlick squad, Tommy Fritsch and Devin Isaj Devin Isaj 6'5" | SF Greendale | 2025 State WI combined to score 54 points. Fritsch is a real sleeper in Wisconsin’s 2023 class. After tallying 30 points in an opening night victory, Fritsch certified himself as a name to know. Isaj is a top name in Wisconsin’s 2025 class. The 6-foot-5 wing prospect scores well from many different spots. Greendale is certainly a formidable squad because of this duo.
Don’t forget about Mason Prey Mason Prey 6'4" | CG Newman Catholic | 2023 State WI
Because he didn’t play for a big-time AAU program during this past spring/summer evaluation period, I feel as though Prey has gone under the radar recently. But make no mistake: the combo guard has long been one of the top prospects in Wisconsin. He continued to prove this in a huge victory over Wausau West. Prey tallied 40 points for his squad in the winning effort.
