At the Top 250 Expo, and like basketball in general, height is huge advantage, but even greater advantage when you take opportunities and make something out of it. Firle was effective scoring around the basket with 6 makes totaling 12 points in this conteset. Being left-handed make Firle a bit more unique and difficult to guard, and as post player he does keep the ball high so smaller players aren’t able to swipe the ball away.

Kevin Armstrong II Kevin Armstrong II 6’6″ | SG Breck | 2024 State MN is a 2024 wing from Breck that played AAU with Gain Elite. The six-foot-four-inch Armstrong has a growing skillset, particularly on the perimeter. His long frame enables him to guard multiple positions which is very intriguing as you don’t have to hide him or work around him on that side of the floor. In transition Armstrong can rebound and go, and has euro-step that enables him to score in the lane for lay-ups.

In a Expo type event, players who pass effectively can sometimes be minimized because of lack of finishing ability of teammates among other factors. Grant Hansen Grant Hansen 5’10” | PG Rock Ridge | 2023 State MN of newly formed Rockridge found tremendous success in this match-up with the assist as I counted six for the game, Hansen, a 2023 guard, made passes to running teammates and cutting teammates for baskets. Although Hansen didn’t show much a scoring burst in this contest, over the Summer with Playmakers North he was the lead guard on their team. He’s a never say quit type of guard that eventually can wear out an opponent.
Tyrell Stupca is a 2025 guard from Brainerd high school who scored 12 points on 5 made shots. Stupca knocked down two 3-pointers in the first half, one a corner catch and shoot off a perfect pass from Billy DeMars Billy DeMars 6’4″ | SG Edina | 2025 State MN and a second on a dribble pull-up. The Pull-up showed if a defender isn’t applying pressure or merely defending Stupca has the ability to rise and connect, especially important for early possession baskets.
Tyler Beckwith Tyler Beckwith 6’5″ | SF Farmington | 2024 State MN is a 2024 six-foot-four-inch forward from Farmington and played AAU with WOTN. Beckwith showed off his ability to hit jumpers off the dribble as he made two 3’s from outside in rhythm off the dribble. His shot was high, tough to guard jump shot. Beckwith seemed to move well on his feet, more guard skills than forward so he could settle in as a wing.
Max Briggs Max Briggs 6’0″ | PG New Life Academy | 2023 State MN a 2023 right-handed guard from New Life Academy displayed a good ability to make 3-pointers as he sank three of them in this contest. The five-foot-eleven-inch guard who led New Life Academy to a 3rd place finish in Class A this past season has a good base to his shot, fluid motion. No hesitation to pull-up, or catch and shoot. Shows that he’s been a leader of a team for a time.
Kyle Steinke Kyle Steinke 6’5″ | PF Mankato West | 2025 State MN is a 2025 six-foot-four-inch wing from Mankato West. Steinke is tall enough and strong enough to score inside and used some deception moves to score versus the very able defender Chiang Ring Chiang Ring 6’8″ | C Park Center | 2024 State #276 Nation MN . Has court awareness of when to cut on his defender to catch passes for easy lay-ups with addition to his outside shoot gives him some good options offensively.
