is one of if not possibly the best shooter in the state for his class. The 6’4 guard is a natural born shooter and after seeing him over the past few years, he’s really developed into a complete player on the offensive side. Derek is money off the dribble and on the catch and shoot. He is more than an outstanding shooter though, he can create his own shot with good ball handling skills and has a really nice pull up and a turnaround jumper in his bag. As he gotten taller and more lengthy he really became a lot better at taking drives to the hoop. He’s really a complete scorer and they’re not many kids that can check him on a island. He has the potential to become one of the top scorers in Columbus this year and has a chance to win his conference player of the year award.
Next is state champ

, he’s been a really nice player to watch this past summer. He plays the game like a true professional. Juwan has a thicker build than most guards and he uses nice body control to finish through some tough contact. Outside of being a great finisher Juwan also has a deadly pull up mid range jumper that he likes to get too. Juwan is very poised and plays the game at his own pace, he’s a floor general and controls everything in the half court. Juwan is very savvy and smart guard who could make a huge impact day one at the next level, I’m excited to follow him these next two years and see how he improves his game even more.
One player that is starting to come along is Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6'4" | SF Westerville Central | 2024 State OH , transferring from Olentangy Berlin to Westerville Central he’s a very under the radar recruit. Standing at 6’4 Isaiah is a very versatile wing, that can do it all. He has guard like ball handling and can get to the rim at will, and he can also spot up and knock it down from range. He’s a big help on defense as well, he uses his long wingspan to swat any lazy shot attempts and is a very solid perimeter defender. Isaiah plays such a sound game and is one to keep tabs on moving forward.
One of the smartest guards I’ve seen in awhile Derek is one of those players that others love to play with. He’s a very high Iq guard who does a a really nice job controlling the offense in the half court. Derek balances his facilitating skills with a balanced scoring attack, he’s dangerous in transition when he pushes the pace and is really smart off a pick and roll. What impressed me most was how well rounded he is defensively, he uses his long wingspan to cause havoc in the passing lanes and he’s really tough to get past on the perimeter. Playing for a very sound and smart Mac Basketball program should really help out his development and make him into a complete player.
