Preseason Player of the Year –
Caleb Williams

Sidwell Friends | 2024
State
#66
Nation
MD
| wing | Sidwell Friends (DC)
Williams’ stock continues to steadily rise. He had a terrific sophomore year during which he was critical to a winning team. Considered a blue-chip recruit from the DMV, expectations will be high for Williams moving forward.
Daquan Davis

St. Frances | 2024
State
#111
Nation
MD
| guard | St. John’s (DC)
Davis made the move to St. John’s after a sophomore season at St. Frances that put his name on the map. The 6’2 lead guard should assert himself as one of the top guards in the WCAC thanks to his three-level scoring ability, determined mindset on the defensive side, and a nonstop motor.
Rob Dockery

Jackson-Reed | 2024
State
#96
Nation
MD
| wing | Jackson-Reed (DC)
Dockery’s value to the Tigers is monumental. All signs are pointing to him filling the leadership void left by the departure of current VA Tech Hokie June Buchanan. There’s no reason why Dockery can’t step up and excel in that role.
Drew McKenna

McKenna

Glenelg Country | 2024
State
#61
Nation
MD
| forward | Glenelg Country (MD)
Last season, McKenna emerged as a top prospect in the area. After a productive summer, he will be a focal point for the Dragons.
Malachi Palmer

Palmer

Mt. Zion Prep | 2024
State
#53
Nation
MD
| guard | Mt. Zion Prep (MD)
Palmer transferred to the area from Hillcrest Prep (AZ) and takes over the No. 1 spot in our rankings. He brings tremendous positional size at 6’6, a sturdy frame, and a fluidity about his game that you normally only see at the highest level of basketball.
SECOND TEAM
Ty Bevins

Bevins

Gwynn Park | 2024
State
#229
Nation
MD
| guard | Gwynn Park (MD)
Bevins is primed for a big junior season as Gwynn Park looks to be a force in PG County. The 6’6 guard can bring a presence on and off the ball. He’ll be expected to fill the stat sheet with regularity if Gwynn Park plans to fulfill their potential.
Caden Diggs
Caden
Diggs
6'7" | SF
Bullis | 2024
State
#135
Nation
MD
| wing | Bullis (MD)
Diggs made his move to Bullis and immediately supplies head coach Bruce Kelley with a dynamic wing that brings explosive athleticism. He is just scratching the surface of his potential but has shown plenty of signs of becoming a household name in DMV hoops talk.
Donnie Freeman | forward | St. John’s (DC)
Freeman has been a key player for the Cadets since his freshman year. He was knocking on the door for the first team and could be by the season’s end.
Martin Somerville | guard | Bishop McNamara (MD)
Somerville has exciting talent. He was already one of the main contributors for McNamara as a sophomore. Given his fruitful run of play over the summer, Sommerville’s prospects this season are promising.
Malcolm Thomas

Thomas

DeMatha | 2024
State
MD
| forward | DeMatha (MD)
Thomas is still just scratching the surface, but it’s clear he’s on his way to reaching it. He will be a forceful paint presence for the Stags.
THIRD TEAM
Tyrin Bizzelle
Tyrin
Bizzelle
6'2" | PG
Calvert Hall College | 2024
State
MD
| guard | Calvert Hall (MD)
Bizzelle has some of the best feel both as a scorer and distributor. The balance he brings as a point guard is extremely valuable and has already proven so in summer leagues or fall play days that Calvert Hall has participated in.
Tyler Boston
Tyler
Boston
5'10" | PG
Bullis | 2024
State

| Guard | Bullis (MD)
Boston has long been considered a top-floor general in the DMV. His consistency over the years has been commendable, making him a no-brainer add to this list.
Machi Chester

Chester

Gwynn Park | 2024
State
MD
| guard | Gwynn Park (MD)
Chester’s arrival at Gwynn Park gives the Jackets a huge boost. He will be a difference-maker on both sides of the court for Coach Garner and company.
Tyonne Farrell
Tyonne
Farrell
6'6" | PF
Mount St. Joseph | 2024
State
MD
| forward | Mount Saint Joseph (MD)
Farrell’s approach is that of a workhorse. He’s relentless on the offensive glass and finishes aggressively around the basket. He’ll be a consistent double-double threat for Mount St. Joseph as they attempt to protect their MIAA and BCL crowns from last year.
Josiah Legree
Josiah
Legree
6'0" | PG
Loyola Blakefield | 2024
State
MD
| guard | Parkville (MD)
Legree showed massive progress over the summer not only growing to 6’1-6’2 but also furthering his feel for the game as a lead guard. He’ll take the controls of a talented Parkville team after spending much of last year as a sixth-man option. Legree is a threat from well beyond three-point range, a crafty distributor, and sets a tone with active hands defensively.
