Heiss was getting it done on both ends and was the best player on the floor for his teams 8 AM contest. Heiss played with impressive defensive effort, picking up opposing ball-handlers in the back-court and giving them fits with his quick feet and hands. Heiss also got going offensively with some off the dribble jumpers and getting to the lane and dishing to a teammate. Heiss has also grown recently, he was 6’1 and now stands at 6’2, 6’3 heading into his Junior season.

Reese has been one of the top scorers week after week in the fall league for one of the top teams. Reese is incredibly shifty with the ball in his hands and tough to stop once he gets by the initial defender. Reese is also deadly from downtown as he’s able to knock down spot-up or off the bounce 3-pointers at a high percentage. Currently Reese is highly pursued by Division III programs with scholarship programs showing interest as well.

Second straight week that Roeth makes this list as his shooting ability is undeniable. Roeth has a quick release and when given time and space, it’s almost automatic. Roeth does a good job of moving without the basketball despite being a natural point guard. With Roeth’s limited physical tools, his off-ball movement is his best bet to get open shots and he takes advantage of this skill. Roeth will appear in our 2024 rankings during the next update and seems to be trying to push higher each time I watch him play.

Dixon is a prospect who doesn’t get the basketball as much as some of the other guards on his team, but on Saturday he made the most of his open 3-point attempts generated by his teammates and competed defensively. You can’t ask for much more out of an undersized guard in a fall league environment and that’s why he gets some shine in this article.
Wyant caught my eye with his ability to make shots off the catch and create for himself in the pick and roll. Wyant was efficient with the shots that he took and even made some nice passes to the roll guy after the defense keyed in on him. Bloom-Carroll graduated their top two scorers from last season and Wyant will slide in and should be one of the top scorers in the MSL this winter.
Another undersized point guard makes this standouts article as Morgan was great in the final game of the day. Morgan made some deep 3-pointers with two from 4-5 feet behind the line. Morgan also hustled defensively and had at least 3-4 steals in the contest. Taking care of the basketball and not turning the ball over from the point guard spot is important and Morgan did that as well for his team. Expect Morgan to get some minutes on a new look Hilliard Davidson squad that graduated some of their top players from last season.
