Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A point guard who flat out helps you win games, Roeth is one of the most impactful players week in and week out from this league. It’s no mystery after watching him play why so many small college programs are prioritizing him in their 2024 recruiting class.

A flat out winner from the point guard position, Roeth is the type of guy who does so many things to impact the game. Defensively, Roeth takes charges, jumps passing lanes and communicates with his teammates. On the offensive end, Roeth knocks down open shots, makes quick decisions with the ball in his hands and is efficient from the floor. The duo of Roeth and

. Roeth is a knockdown shooter who is capable of playing on or off the ball, depending on who has it going on what night. I’m also a fan of Roeth’s floor general skills and efficient shooting. I believe Roeth will be high on many regional Division III recruiting boards starting this spring and could receive looks from scholarship programs.

Roeth used the expo to show us his improved game from when I watched him during AAU. In an event where selfish play can bare it’s ugly head, Roeth showed unselfish play making an extra pass many times to give a teammate a better shot. Much quicker than over the Summer and improved physicality and confidence going at bigger players. Roeth should be a priority for D3 programs as he can fit several systems.

Second straight week that Roeth makes this list as his shooting ability is undeniable. Roeth has a quick release and when given time and space, it’s almost automatic. Roeth does a good job of moving without the basketball despite being a natural point guard. With Roeth’s limited physical tools, his off-ball movement is his best bet to get open shots and he takes advantage of this skill. Roeth will appear in our 2024 rankings during the next update and seems to be trying to push higher each time I watch him play.

Roeth is a really impressive small school prospect who was incredibly efficient from the outside. Roeth has a smooth stroke and it seems like every open shot he takes is going in. I was impressed with Roeth’s ability to score for himself with the ball in his hands. Roeth and
