I’ve seen Crain play once this summer and thought that he was a great set shooter, the game I watched him play he knocked down spot up 3s when his team needed. Fast forward to Sunday Jacob showed signs of being a much more complete player, he handled the ball well, finished at the rim off a hop step showing streaks of solid athletic ability and footwork. After watching him play 3 games I realized this kid can really hoop, to add he was one of the better shooters of the day.
6’7 Garrett Watterson Garrett Watterson 6'7" | SF Bolles | 2024 State FL
The 6’7 junior shot the ball extremely well Sunday, a lengthy locked in shooter who isn’t phased by closing out defenders. He keeps his poise, his wingspan and length allow him to get his jump shot off at such a high release point those closing out have little chance of contesting. He also looked good at the high post and block finishing at the rim and hitting a handful of turn around jumpers.
5’9 Caleb Kyzer Caleb Kyzer 5'10" Fort Walton Beach | 2023 FL
Caught Kyzer earlier this summer at Flagler Univ. team camp where he proved to be a solid PG that knew how to run the floor and direct traffic, his shooting is what stood out the most, much like it did on Sunday. The 2023 prospect shot the ball with such confidence even pulling up in transition and hitting consistently. The Fort Walton Beach PG showed the deepest range of the day often pulling from well beyond NBA range.
6’2 Luke Rhodes Luke Rhodes 6'2" West Boca | 2023 FL
Rhodes just might have had the purest stroke of the day. He had such a perfect form and release. Luke was another player I had slated as simply a spot-up shooter. Frankly, I was wrong. Every time he touched the ball he was productive, made several shots off the dribble creating space with crafty footwork.
6’1 Malachi Morris
Let me start by saying Morris is much more than a shooter, he was quick and able to get to his spots in a hurry with and without the ball. What did stand out this weekend was his ability to hit from behind the arc each game he played he had at least several threes. Malachi is a great two-way player that can really stroke it from deep.
