Prep Hoops Maryland posted its 2025 rankings update today. Here is a look at some of the biggest stock risers.

#11 | [player_tooltip player_id='1371865' first='Akbar' last='Waheed III'] | Georgetown Prep | Previous Rank: #30

Waheed was terrific throughout the summer. He broke out this year in the Capitol Hoops Summer League, where he averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal per game while shooting 38% from behind the arc. Waheed will be a player to watch in the IAC for the upcoming season.

#19 | [player_tooltip player_id='1371863' first='Omarr' last='Smith'] | Curley | Previous Rank: #19

Smith was the only 2025 prospect named to the first team at DMV Elite 80 this year. That should come as no surprise to those who've seen him play up in Baltimore. Smith enjoyed a productive freshman campaign at Curley during which he averaged double figures in scoring. The sharpshooting guard is a safe bet to build off the promising start to his high school career.

#28 | [player_tooltip player_id='1370507' first='Shane' last='Pendergrass'] | Gwynn Park | Previous Rank: #38

Pendergrass has considerable upside that he is starting to realize. His arrival at Gwynn Park gives the Yellow Jackets a dynamic presence in the frontcourt. We're told Pendergrass recently posted 20 points, 11 boards, and 8 blocks in a team camp win vs. Bishop O'Connell.

#32 | [player_tooltip player_id='1414533' first='Patrick' last='Curtin'] | Glenelg Country | Previous Rank: #41

Curtin was one of the breakout performers at DMV Live. He averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal per game for the Dragons while shooting 34% from three and 89% from the line. Expect Curtin to carve out a key role for his new team this winter.

#33 | [player_tooltip player_id='1370512' first='Mario' last='Tatum'] | Mt. Carmel | Previous Rank: #42

Tatum is a promising guard prospect who has been on our radar for a while. He gained valuable experience with [program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant'] on the EYBL this summer. Tatum will factor into guard rotation at Mt. Carmel as a sophomore.

#37 | [player_tooltip player_id='1494086' first='Isaiah' last='Skinn'] | Archbishop Carroll | Previous Rank: #60

Skinn initially stood out because of his relentless defensive pursuit. Each time we see him, he shows new elements of his game. In our recent viewing of Skinn at the DMV Elite 80, he did a bit of everything well. The Lions are getting a sneaky-good pickup for their backcourt.
