They are some of the best three-point shooters in their class and have the size that allows them to get their shots off under almost any condition. I’ve separated them into a few categories to highlight how they find their looks from beyond the arc and will breakdown what makes each player a unique long-range threat.
Anytime, Anywhere Shooters
These shooters have the greenlight at any time. They are threats from any spot around the arc and find their looks in a variety of ways.
King is not only one of the tallest shooters on this list, but he also has some of the highest arc on his shot. His height, high release, and big arc, make his shot one of the hardest to contest and plays a big role in his consistency from long range.
Off the dribble, off the catch, it doesn’t matter for Gebbers. He has the strong lower body and solid base on his shot to hit from any situation. It’s easy to see the reps he’s put in because his shot looks the same on every attempt. He’s got that good snap on his shot and from feet to follow-through, his form is picture perfect.
Highlights
Contested Shooters
Good closeouts and sticky defense rarely affect these shooters. They have the ability to shoot directly over outstretched hands and knock down those tough shots from distance.
It takes a lot of focus to hit contested shots and Browne has it. Being 6’6 helps, but he also tends to have good lift on his jumper and the supreme confidence to shoot with defenders barrelling down on him. Browne hit a bunch of clutch, contested shots last season and has the ability to spur comebacks with his tough shot making from distance.
Clark already has a tough shot to contest at 6’7, but he also has a super wingspan that makes the lever on his shot finish real high. He showed improved confidence in his shot this summer and more aggression looking for it. The skilled shooter just recently committed to Air Force Academy.
Transition Shooters
While they’re threats to hit the three at all times, these guys find a lot of their looks in transition by being confident and ready shooters.
Pepper often is the one bringing the ball down for his Selah squad and he likes to push the ball and head for the hoop. This aggression, along with his speed and strength, tends to make defenders drop back and leave room around the arc. That’s why Pepper has such success shooting the three in transition. Great recognition and superior driving ability open up a lot of looks for him outside and Pepper has the sweet stroke to capitalize.
Marquardt spends most of his time inside but in transition, he’s the perfect trail. He can finish at the rim but also stop his run at the arc with defenders sucked inside, and hit the three with ease. He’s a tough player to account for with his ability to spot up in transition and nail the three with high efficiency.

Easy Range
Making it look easy to hit from way back, these shooters have the strength to hit the three while off balance, from tough angles, and way behind the line.
Tyukalo might have some of the deepest range I’ve seen in the state. He is ready to shoot whenever he gets the ball and can create a lot of power in his shot with little motion. Confidence is not an issue with Tyukalo, so defenders better be ready to guard way out all game long.
The only lefty on this list, Reilly makes it look easy to get his shot off from just about anywhere. He’s good at making compact dribbles and quick footwork to create enough space to get his shot off but also has the strength to hit through tough coverage and off-balanced shots.
Highlights
One of the biggest and most athletic guards in the state, Stewart has incredible strength that allows him to make the long-range shot look easy. His power is most apparent at the rim but you can also see that power at play with step-back threes or shots fading away from defenders. Stewart has the grown man’s strength that makes his stroke from deep easy.
