At one point, he even threw down a transition dunk over 2 or 3 defenders which sent the gym into a complete frenzy. It looks like he’s gained some serious bounce this offseason so it’ll be interesting to see the ways that will take his game to the next level. With the ball in his hands, Pope is silky smooth and has a quick first step that helps him penetrate. Cameron Pope Cameron Pope 6’0″ | SG Cherokee | 2023 State GA is definitely a guy to keep an eye on through his senior season at Cherokee.
Highlights
Laz Mason had a strong showing on Saturday and has been a popular name thus far in camp season. The combo guard from Grayson had some really impressive passes in transition and racked up several assists on the day. He’s got a nice change of speed to his dribble and he handles it well. Watching Mason play, it’s clear that he just loves to compete. He wants to be on the court, playing against the best. His dawg mentality is very on par with this Wood Elite program so it would be a fun pairing to see them together next spring.

Mason Bennett
Mason Bennett is a strong guard out of Cherokee that’s hard not to like. He’s been with Wood Elite since the beginning and has played a huge role in establishing their tough, never back down mentality. He plays extremely hard on both ends of the floor and provides a level of grit and toughness that can’t be coached. He was very effective on Sunday as a playmaker and that part of his game has shown significant improvement this offseason. All in all, Mason Bennett is a blue-collar, team first guy that colleges will value when the spring rolls around.
Tre Winters Tre Winters 6’5″ | SG Adairsville | 2025 State GA has been a hot name recently and played up to his status on Sunday. The sophomore wing is coming off of a 28-point perfromance at the RYZE Fall League on Thursday which garnered a lot of attention. Winters provides a lot of positional versatility because he can guard multiple positions and play various positions around the perimeter. He likes a fast-paced game and scored in transition several times throughout Sunday morning. When it’s all said and done, Tre Winters Tre Winters 6’5″ | SG Adairsville | 2025 State GA could likely be one of the top 2025’s in Georgia.

Jacob Taylor
Jacob Taylor scored the ball efficiently and was one of the most impressive underclassmen throughout the day. The sophomore guard has a really good feel for the game and plays with a level of comfort that you don’t always see. He spent most of the morning creating turnovers and scoring in transition. Taylor finishes well at the rim and also shot it well on Saturday. Jacob Taylor and Jakaden Barkley will make up one of Georgia’s most intriguing backcourts this winter for Excel.
