Cam Pope has been the most consistent guy in a loaded backcourt over the past 2 years at Cherokee. Great 3-level scorer, can hit tough, off-balance shots. Has come a long way athletically and is starting to play above the rim more. Handles it well too and has a nice change of speeds. Pope has a few D3 offers on the table but hasn’t shut it down yet. His 4.3 GPA should also attract some high-academic schools.

Pope poured in 15 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in a 66-44 win over Darlington.

Pope is another multi-level scorer that can make things happen off the bounce and off the catch. He finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Cam knocked down 3 threes and was part of the play of the night, collecting a steal and pushing the ball down the floor with his right hand before switching to his left to throw a lob with two men on him to Dastin Hart Dastin Hart 6'5" | PF Cherokee | 2023 State GA for a slam dunk. The high academic guard is trending with D-III programs.

In the first couple of minutes, Pope converted two tough finishes at the rim, knocked down a deep 3, and had multiple pinpoint assists. The do-it-all guard out of Cherokee has improved tremendously since last season. He’s got great body control in the air which allows him to finish through contact a lot of the time and is looking a lot more explosive as of late. Cameron Pope Cameron Pope 6'0" | SG Cherokee | 2023 State GA stole the show on Saturday, scoring in a variety of ways and showing off a refined skillset. At one point, he even threw down a transition dunk over 2 or 3 defenders which sent the gym into a complete frenzy. It looks like he’s gained some serious bounce this offseason so it’ll be interesting to see the ways that will take his game to the next level. With the ball in his hands, Pope is silky smooth and has a quick first step that helps him penetrate.
