We were in attendance for this event – which featured mostly Southern California-based players, and below are some new prospects we saw that college coaches of various levels should keep an eye on.
Adrionne Marcus, Rancho Dominguez Prep
The 6-foot-6 forward made his mark as one of the better athletes and finishers in the gym. Marcus was active on the offensive and defensive boards, used his high motor to run the floor for easy paint buckets and had a number of eye-opening dunks and finishes through contact around the basket.
Elijah Andrews, Compton Magic
Andrews flashed his quickness in the open court and craftiness in the half-court settings. The 5-foot-8 point guard used his speed to get by defenders and into the paint where he created shots for himself and for teammates. Andrews did a nice job of balancing playmaking for others and finding scoring opportunities for himself.
Kavon Ray, Venice
Ray is a wiry 6-foot-2 left-hander who defenders had a tough time keeping out of the paint. Ray used effective hesitations and changes of speed to get defensive players off-balance leading to downhill drives and finishes around the basket. Ray can play off the ball as well with his smooth shooting stroke off the catch from three-point range.
Khayleb Tua’one, Bingham (UT)
Tua’one is a high motor, tough and physical lead guard who managed camp games nicely. The 6-foot-2 Utah native used his strong frame to bully defenders in the lane for finishes around the basket and acted as a distributor on dribble-drives to the paint where he drew help defenders and was a willing passer to open shooters.
Mason Pacheco-Robinson, Lakewood
Pacheco-Robinson has a “wired-to-score” mentality that helped him earn a Top 20 game selection. The 6-foot guard has a knack for getting into the lane and to the basket where he uses his body to create space from shot blockers and finish off the glass. Pacheco-Robinson also flashed a consistent pull-up jump shot from the 12-15 feet range.
