Sacha has been a consistent name in the AAU and camp scene due to his playmaking ability off the bounce and progressing athleticism. Standing roughly 6’1, Sacha plays an efficient brand of basketball where he is a threat from beyond the arc and around the rim. Already one of the better athletes in his class, Sacha’s quick first step is all too much for most perimeter defenders. While he is steady playmaking as the lead guard, Sacha is just as effective as a secondary creator from rotating defenders. When around the rim, Sacha is capable elevating to either throw it down or hang in the air to make a decisive move. The junior combo guard truly shines in transition situations, where he is nothing short of dependable in the open court. The next major step for Sacha comes from his change of speeds in the halfcourt, where he still has significant untapped potential as a lead guard. Sacha comes in at 17th overall and 3rd among combo guards.
Max Johnson Max Johnson 5'10" | PG Oak Park River Forest | 2024 State IL – Oak Park River Forest -2024
Standing roughly 5’11, Johnson was electric creating scoring opportunites for himself and teammates. The incoming junior from Illinois made waves with his ballhandling, where he was nearly unstoppable getting to his spots. He could change speeds on a dime, using that opportunity to make a dime or blow by the opponent. Johnson showcased elite finishing around the rim, regardless of a physical contest. Johnson is a pure point guard, capable controlling the pace and putting all four of his teammates in advantageous situations. On the opposite end, he is lockdown one on one and stays skinny on opponents when manuevering through screens. Johnson currently sits at 41st overall and 12th for Illinois among point guards.
Caeden Twedell – Ralston Valley – 2024
The incoming junior from Ralston Valley made winning plays all day, most of which will not show up on the stat sheet. Standing roughly 5’10, Twedell showed fearlessness attacking the rim along with fighting for loose balls. His low center of gravity allows him to be quick on his feet while retaining hits in traffic. The young guard also proved to be capable hitting shots off the bounce, typically when coming off a screen.
Narit Chotikavanic – McMillen – 2024
Standing roughly 6’1, the junior combo guard showed increased assertiveness taking on size in the paint while maintaining his efficiency as a shooter. As one of a couple Texas names in the building, Chotikavanic first caught my eye in the Grind Region for having multiple 20+ point games back in April. He has proven to work hard both on his skillset and in the weight room, where he added noticeable athleticism and strength versus contact. As of now, the junior combo guard is a tough matchup as a pullup shooter out beyond the arc. The biggest improvement has come from his defensive progression, where his strength improvments have continued to bolster him one on one. While Chotikavanic is proven as a scorer, I want to see him control the pace inside the arc a bit more often.
